J37 IM & TB Mod Question
Wusup guys. I'm new to the TL community and have been researching a lot of mods and upgrades. My question is, is the J37 IM & TB mod worth doing on an '07 TL Type S 5AT ?? Looking to get as much N/A bolt on power that I can

Yes it is and have your runners PnP'd with them.

I have every bolt on minus pulleys on my base auto and I can tell you that you'll feel a huge difference in the performance especially after a tune. Only thing I have not done is PNP my intake runners.

I did as much searching as I could before I posted anything. Just never saw a straight answer as to whether its worth the money to do this mod. Seems like everyone says all the power to be made is with the 6spd MT versions.

What we mean is the manuals are worth it more because you can get into the 300hp range and the gearing is ok enough to keep up with today's cars. The autos start lower in power and gearing is terrible so even with all the bolt ons you'll be hard pressed to keep up even with a modern family sedan. Your car will still be more pleasing to you with an extra 40-50hp but if performance is a main goal for you on a 3G TL either get a manual or boost your auto, but if boosting prepare yourself for big investment and many break downs.

Nice list with parts and prices but what did they all amount to power wise?

230whp on a dynapack, 263whp on a DynoJet. DynoJet number hasn't been confirmed yet but a friend of mine had all the same mods minus J37 stuff and made 253whp on one. So I'm sure I make at least 260whp with that taken into consideration. His was auto too. Same year.

So $900 for the manifold crap netted you about 10whp? Is that what people are finding? I stopped paying attention around here when people truly started doing that mod.

Lol. Damn the TL!
I'd totally do the manifold kit mod but only if I could tune.

Do you have printout of the graphs for the dyno runs?

I have everything anyone would ever need. Watch every video I've ever posted. Read every video description I've ever written. My OCD made sure that if people doubted, they can watch the videos and PAY ATTENTION to what is being said. Regardless what the numbers are, it doesn't drive like a 230whp car at all. That's not debatable. I don't make this shit up. 250whp is totally believable with my mods after a mild FIC tune on top.
Now go.

It's a poor mans tuning option more or less. It's the closest thing I can get to a full tune. On my car it allows air fuel ratio tuning but nothing else. No VTEC adjustment and no timing advance. It's really meant for cars with turbos and supercharged applications so that you can retard timing if there's engine knock but outside of that it won't do much on an NA car. It was the only option outside of paying a grand and a half almost for a full blown standalone J&R ECU
