Depending on the manufacture 10-15hp.
a jpipe is one of the best bangs for the bucks with out any drawbacks.

Are there direct oem replacements? Besides the material what exactly gives it more hp?

what brand would you guys suggest that is both well built and performs, as well as wallet friendly?

I've got the RV6 V3 and love it. Beefs up the mid range pretty well. $470 shipped.

I have the ATLP V2 and love it. that way you can retain your 3rd cat if you want (And for vehicle inspections), Also if you go pre cat deletes you can put a high flow cat there and it cuts all the rasp.

Our j-pipe is made out of T304 US grade stainless steel. It has equal length runners and performs extremely well throughout the entire RPM band, especially the low end.
