IRotors - What do you guys think?

Guys,

I have an 06 TL and I'm in need of some new rotors and pads. I wanted to get your thoughts on this specfic model: http://www.irotors.com/storefrontpro...73&i=233041824

Its listed at $299 for F/R rotors and pads, but I found a listing on Ebay for $250. Seems like a very good deal to me, but i dont know about the quality/performance behind these guys.

I really would preffer the drilled and slotted and I know that Excelerate has a GB on Rotoras but his deal is going to cost me somewhere around $545 before shipping!

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I had irotors on my 2nd TLS with axis metal pads and they are probably the best rotors I ever had. I was able to get almost 80k miles without any brake maintenance before the pads were worn and the rotors were warped.

These were the rotors I installed:

Do you have the 6 speed Manual with the black Brembo front calipers that say ACURA on them, or the automatic trans?
Makes a BIG differance on the price of the parts- guess which one cost more~

The link given is for standard NON brembo rotors, as found on the automatics trans cars.

MrHeelToe has RacingBrake, and Excelerate has Rotora, if spending the money- do it right the first time and save in the long run.
Side slots are helpful if you drive it hard and use the brakes repeatedly. They allow for pad outgassing while in motion. Drilled is not needed for street cars- if you auto-x race the car- or live on a mountain and commute down to work...get them for sure!

Thanks for the feedback guys and to answer your question, I have an automatic. As I stated earlier I really want cross-drilled rotors for asthetics.. and as far as i know, the racing brake rotors only come slotted..

So that leaves me with Rotora's or the IRotors. If money wasn't an issue id jump all over the rotoras no question. But with the price of parts, shipping and installation, im looking close to an $800 brake job. Theres no way I can justify paying that much for new rotors and pads!

I can get the IRotors for $200 (rotors only) and a good set of ceramic pads, installed for in and around $500. and that I can live with.

My only concern is if this company has a reputation for quality parts and if I'll have better braking power with this setup vs my factory brakes..

or am I just better off going back to the dealer and have them replace it with OEM parts?

First, do the install yourself! Save the money, it is a really easy install and plenty of help here on the forums. This would allow you to get the more expensive ones and come in under budget!

I am in the same boat as you, trying to decide which ones to go with. A year ago this was not really an issue, as no one had brakes for the 6MT's. Now I have to many choices!

Good luck and remember, you can do it!!

Personally, spend the extra on the rotora's. Those Irotors have flaws from just those photos. The hubs are unpainted, that will cause rust to form and rust you wheels to the rotors and vice versa when doing rotor changes, also aren't the disks different sizes? Those all look like the same size...

I would do the install myself but the problem is my wife and I just relocated to Dallas. Got here 2 weeks ago and I have no tools to do the job what so ever. Right now im just looking for the most cost effective way to replace these parts and the iRotors are at the top of my list.

As far as the hubs not being painted.. couldn't I just do that myself? Its just heat resistant caliper paint right?
