![Question](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Is there a reason I can't find a short ram intake? All I keep finding is cold air intake but I live in colorado and prefer short ram.
Is there a noticable gain on torch or throttle response?

You may live in CO, but its still hot as hell in your engine bay, go for the CAI. Just my .02. If you must have SRI I know k&n has 1.

this is the k&n I was thinking of. Can be configured as a SRI & CAI, 2 for 1 deal.

Thanks for the K&N link. How are the gains and sound on this K&N. Does it fit well with no problems. I think the throttle response sucks now on the TL so im hoping the intake helps this.

Don't get the bypass. After a while the filter material will disintergrate and then get sucked into the engine... Not worth it. Don't worry about the water from a CAI, you have to drive through a puddle 10-12inches deep to suck anything into it. Basically stay out of puddles that touch the bottom of the car and you'll be just fine.

Ahh Im not sure, you cant brake torque the tl from what i hear, so i guess performance mods is the way to go. I was going to tell you to try to give your car a little bit of a launch if you really need the power, but i drive MT. I try not to do that at all because im on the stock clutch with 86k miles, you really shouldnt do that on a stock clutch at all but it is an option :-/

wow, a lot of questions about intake systems just in this past week.
ALRIGHT, as far as intake systems go, you won't get any sort of performance gains from a short ram (particularly in our cars). The only difference is the noise you'll hear...air rushing in through the filter (it's kewl! i had a short ram at one point...)
HOWEVER, you can have best of both worlds with a cold air intake. You get performance gains and the "noise" that everyone loves. If you're worried about the filter taking in water...don't be. You have to run the car through A LARGE (and I mean HUGE) body of water to actually get water up in their. The filter has to be submerged completely!

and it looks better...imo
