I go to take the manifold off n throttle body to clean it today and the F**KIN CAI mount is broken!?!?!?!?! WTF! LOL...Anyway has anyone else had this happen??? I got a guy who welds aluminum a block from my shop Im gonna have him reinforce the mount and make it 2 or 3 mm thicker...no way am I buying another.

well since it is out already why not change the filter I like the fujita one the best

Or maybe just get rid of the CAI and do a custom ICE BOX setup like other people on the forum.

ummmmmm no ice box for me sorry.....there is noooooo way the noise can be duplicated from aem through plastic.....i installed the fujita on my friends in 04 because AEM didnt make one right away for it and he didnt like it becuz there was no noise like the AEM..... one of my friends has a metal shop....he says one of the older guys in there is a pro at welding aluminum....so I asked him to scan the bracket that cracked make it thicker by 2-3 mm and weld it back with increased support spanning outwards so thats the welds cover the crack and maybe give it a stiffer support.I also have nicer rubber mounts for the piece as well made from harder rubber n bolts....whens it all done ill have pics of b4 n after.

Welcome to the aftermarket world. With the rare exception, you will never find any aftermaket parts that are as well engineered with as much R&D as factory parts. I expect to have to have problems with aftermarket stuff whether it's fit and finish, or reliability. When something goes wrong, it's expected so I don't get too mad. When something goes right, it's a nice surprise.

Yea man ur right.... 100%..... I HATE CARS!!!! LMAO!!!! its ok though i have the means to fix it if i didnt and if in a way i was forced to reinstall the original or buy another i wouldnt even want a car....jus something we all gotta deal with
