What's up crew!

I have been doing a search and it is hard to get a definitive answer for this question: Which brake pads perform better on the TL??

I have an 06 6MT. I want to replace the OEM with one of the following:

1) Hawk HPS

2) Hawk Ceramics

3) Rotora Ceramics

I found two places that carry them and I rescheduled my Monday appt. to get the order in by Wednesday. But which ones are better? I want good stopping power, but very minimal dust!! My new rims demand it.

So please respond and tell me why you think the one you say is best. I have to order these on Monday to get them by Wednesday so I need some help now fellas! Thanks!

FYI - I will be using new Rotora Combo Rotors at time of installation.

With the Rotora slotted you want the Rotora ceramics- they are designed to work together!

desper has RonJons rims and the rotora brake setup- car always looks great (show/award quality detail he does himself) with minimal work on the rims

Wax your rims with synthetic car wax- 3 coats is good and last a long time
Dust rolls right off them- or at least rinses right off!

Yeah, fuck that. I'm going to get the Rotoras. I'll have a complete Rotora setup with pads and these:

I didn't have these (above) rotors on my 03 TL-S, but I had similar ones, and they looked awesome!

Those look nice man! How much do these run? After getting my rims..I think it's kind of necessary

the hawks are not noisy- the hps performance street pads do make some dust because they are stopping the car fast! but not sqeek or weirdess
If they make any noise- they need to be rebedded and thats an easy fix on the road

The rotora slotted are good with their brand pads- most companies are like that
Also consider RacingBrake stuff from azine vendor MrHeelToe
rotora, you get from Excelerate both found in Off Topic, Sponsored Sales area

It depends on whether you have 5AT or 6MT:

Acura TL 3.2L (04-07) excluding Brembo caliper (5AT)
- ROTORA Front Slotted Rotors - $175/pair
- ROTORA Rear Slotted Rotors - $165/pair
- ROTORA Front Combo Rotors - $210/pair
- ROTORA Rear Combo Rotors - $200/pair

- Russell Stainless Steel Brake Lines (F&R) $110

Acura TL 3.2L (04-07) w/ Brembo caliper (MT)
- ROTORA Front Slotted Rotors - $225/pair
- ROTORA Rear Slotted Rotors - $165/pair
- ROTORA Front Combo Rotors - $290/pair
- ROTORA Rear Combo Rotors - $200/pair

Hey man, post back later on your thoughts on the rotors and pads - both looks, stopping performance and dust - especially compared to stock.

GL with the install.

there is a thread on them
seem to work good 6 to 12 months then time to replace
Stick with great brands and the azine vendors for the right stuff

well.... lasting and running perfect straight with no warpage are different things.
I was referring to useable life----
Get the blue or gold plated/colored rotors- the color comes off soon and the zinc plating used is horrible for the Earth

RacingBrake and Rotora are top performers with proven history and quality

I have EBC Ceramic Red Stuff, don't beleive all the rumors about them (atleast not their recent brakes). They dust a little more than Brembo, but it's worth it, also ceramic brake dust particles are less harmful to paint (so i heard). Initial bite is better than stock, and even better when hot. Squeeked a little during break-in, but they are great now and I love them!!

Ceramics dust less by far no question
in trade, there is less bite in them- still very good brakes, just never to be taken to race track

Rotora makes nice ones and so does Hawk

And that 3 coats synthetic wax is the ticket on easy cleaning and keeping clean

He's full of crap. Either his pads are not clean or he did not bed in properly. I have them on 2 of my cars and at least 2 others in my family. Nobody makes a peep.

Replace the rotors with Racingbrake and you will get 2-3 times the rotor life without needing to resurface with pad changes.
