I thought the front ones were a bitch to install. So much so that it wouldn't be worth it.

you guys need to read the other posts ~ this has come up already once ~ i can't remember when, but it was pretty recent, and basically the break down was that for a FWD to get a FSB is really bad. Not to mention if you guys stick around long enough you get the feeling that the general attitude is that H&R can go to hell with acura products.

this is all out of mere observation ~ i personally never liked H&R from bad experiences with my friend's ride, but basically, a FSB is useless and will actually make handling worse.

RSB ftw ~ i'm looking to buy one - anyone got any offers?

based on driving experience, the average joe should not put a beefy sway bar in front on a fwd car. rear sway bar yes. the car handles better and more predicatiblity with the slight nose dive. if you don't like the way the front reacts, get some teins. a beefy sway bar in the rear however will correct the notorious understeer the boat of a tl has. progress all the way. they make good shit. progress also has a civic that races the salt flats. that must show for something.

So the MT TL have more understeering than the AT than ?? cause the MT's FSB is 27.2mm and the AT is 25.2mm F or the AT guy should upgrade their's FSB to the MT size ?? I test drove a AT TL-S b4 and the car seem like more response on the front, and I'm locating a MT FSB from the junk yard maybe I will let you guy know after I install it.

I have a 04 5AT btw

Well, the average joe shouldn't install a rear sway bar either, as it induces oversteer much easier. In fact, if we're speaking about the average joe, sways bars are the last thing you should ever modify in your suspension setup.

A simple way to get more out of your sway bar is to use polyurethane bushings. Switching from the squishy rubber ones to polyurethane is equivalent to increasing sway bar diameter about 10 to 15 percent. However, I don't know whether companies such as Energy Suspension make these bushings for the TL yet.

Now, increasing the diameter of your front sway bar will induce understeer. You have to remember that the sway bar essentially connects the suspension from side to side. So when you're in a turn, the inside tire will have a tendency to pick up off the ground.

This isn't to say that a front sway bar is bad, but bigger is not always better. At a certain point, getting a thicker bar will make your handling worse. But in a front/front car like ours, I wouldn't get a thicker front sway bar, but rather a thicker rear sway bar. Front/front cars have horrendous understeer. Getting a thicker rear bar will allow the rear end to come out easier, allowing for more neutral handling.

This topic comes up once a month... Search this forum and you'll find some good educational reading and LOTS of opinions on upgrading the front swaybar.

The H&R bar is still vaporware...

If you you REALLY want to upgrade for shit s and giggles, and recognize that you have to lower the front subframe to insatll it (WORK)... consider upfgrading to the 2007 TL-S FSB

AT - 25.2mm hollow
MT - 27.2mm hollow
2007 TL-S 6MT 27.2 SOLID - that's significant.

and use good energy suspension poly bushings.

Right... 27.2 = 27mm

They also have a 25mm bushing for you Auto guys, but if you're gonna go through the trouble, might as well upgrade the bar too to at least that of the MT.

Have you ever measured .2mm? .2mm only matters in precise machining. I've seen folks on this forum squeeze a 24mm swaybar into a 22mm poly bushing.

The PN you need is ENS - 9.5162 - non- greasable. The greasable links are preffered, but they won't fit in the front...

and again, you have to drop the sub frame to get to the mounting point of the front bushings.

I just bought the front sway bar(MT) with stock bushing maybe going to do the poly bushing later.

I will let you guy know when the FSB is in.

To be honesst... I don't think it's been done before. What we need is someone with a Helms/Service manual to post up some scans.

In the Acura book I have it shows both manual and auto 07 TL-S having a solid 27.0mm front bar. And the back is 20.0mm
