Thumbs up

Got a chance to meet Eddie today he came and got some parts today great guy ... I have to say I'm jealous car looks awesome love the wheels , light mods, lipkit but what really top it off is that custom exhaust have to hear it in person to believe for your self not just a hype this is by far best mod for price and not loud at all which I thought was awsome especially for an auto , nice welds, true y bend and last but not least fitment is perfect ..........nice nice nice .......

This sounds great. i'm thinking about doing this too. Can we get a confirmed part # for those mufflers? You should also ask the shop what kind of tips those are, I love them.

Could you do me a huge favor.. Could you get the measurements of that tip. The Magnaflow tip is 5.25" wide and 2.75 inches high. Just want to see how close those measurements are to the tip you have.. Thanks.

So considering I live in wi and it snows every year, how long do you think this kind of setup would/will last compared to a stainless steel version? I wouldn't mind doing something like this for the bang for buck, but I'm a little worried that if I do this that I'll have to keep on getting new pipes every so often? Any thoughts on this?

That is a very nice sounding exhaust. Good move keeping a similar factory style tip. How is the interior noise with that setup??

It's excellent. Not loud at all on the inside but sounds great on the outside and there's no drone. I love it.

Props to you for actually searching and finding this thread instead of making a new one, but something tells me the person that started the thread isn't going to see the question you are asking him. He is at 0% activity and his last log in was on 3-18. I would wait until you can PM and hope he has it set up to where he receives an email so he can get back to you.

Other than that, you should be able to go to any exhaust shop that creates custom exhausts to have something like this done. I personally would stick to privately owned shops as opposed to going to say Meineke.

I'm also in the process of redoing my exhaust that the person before me put on...they slapped on some ricer mufflers and it sounds obnoxious. To loud, massive drone, etc etc.

uuummmmm, i sorry to be a downer, but i am noticing some things...

1. this setup... is not a true mandrel bend system. sorry
2.I had those tips on my first setup, ended up not liking them a month later(just my taste)
3. I foresee a hole in your exhaust down the line from his weld on that hanger in that 4th pic.
4. do you know if u got aluminized or stainless piping? if stainless what grade?
5.welds are decent, but there are waaaay too many.
I hope you did not pay more than 500$

as someone who has had 3 custom setups on my TL, i feel i can give my critique like i have. Again not trying to be a downer, just sharing my knowlege.

this is why i went to CM performance(Also in Ft. lauderdale). TRUE All mandrel bends, minimal welds(all tig), t304 stainless, non restricted mufflers, and the hangers were done extremely well so there would be no chance of a tear. i do have some pics of mine i will try to get up

To anyone else in the area looking to go custom, i highly recomend going to see dave http://www.cmperformanceexhaust.com/

Xiomaro, this is the exact set-up I plan on doing as well...those mufflers/tips look perfect. What mufflers/tips are those? Also, what size piping is everything?

I was thinking of going with these...http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...=main&id=10648

^IMO, Mag's suck.

3" piping all the way to the Y, 2 1/2 up to the Muff's. No resonator... it sounds like every TL should. no Rasp, barely any noticeable drone, and not too loud, but mean as hell.

CM performance has their mufflers made to his specs. They are soooo well built.
and i think the tips were just some standard 4" double sidewalls. I'm going to be changing them out to some 5" tips though. i wanted it to fill the gap a little more

Also my whole setup with labor and materials was only 700$

Just getting peoples opinions on my options; As per GuLuMoNeY's recommendation, I took the TL to a local muffler shop, seemed to be a decent fella; his recommendation was to go with a custom exhaust made at his shop vs. buying a ready made one from XLR8 or Tsudo or gReddy (the last being the one I really would have loved to have!!). I showed him this youtube video as this is what I want -
He recommends using a 3" pipe (I need to confirm material on the pipe) crush bent in his shop with magnaflow mufflers that will look and sound similar to the gReddy - all installed for $575!! (He said he'd let me try out the system without resonator) and if it's too loud then he'll place the res no charge; Also he showed me some options for drone that he could do at an additional cost ($70); It would be great to have your guys's opinions as to my options
