why not do some free weight reduction:
Get rid of spare tire and jack
Get rid of counter-weight in trunk lid
Get rid of rear floor-mats
Get rid of the owners booklet
Get rid of trunk lining
and a few other things which you can find in the TL diet thread.

I would definitely go with the Cold air intake first. Thats where i started. It was around $300. Then I got my mid-muffler removed for $20 just for that crisp sound. And if you want a a little more out of your stock exhaust I would say the $125 ATPL Race pipe would do the work. Thats just around $450 there and you still have a lot more too play around with. These are just some basics though. =)

Isn't it important to still have some backpressure so u dont lose low end torque? And u can take a camry from a roll. You should get headers, a j-pipe, AEM Cold air intake, weight reduction, swap ur battery for a lighter battery(braile 21lbs). Get some new light weight rims. U will get alot of trq, and hp out of all this.

for $1500, you can get a CAI, Pulley, Jpipe, Cat deletes and test pipe. That should give the Camry a run for its money.

Month 2-Rims

Month 3-Drop

Month 6-Supercharger

Month 7-Broke!!!

You can't put headers on a 3G TL. pipes coming off the heads are cast onto the block.

Step 1 - Sell the TL
Step 2 - Use the money for a down payment on a Viper ACR
Step 3 - Use $1,500 for monthly payments on Viper ACR
Step 4 - Beat the Camry SE

or...

Month 1 - Intake, cat-back exhast
Month 2 - J-pipe, pre-cat deletes, pulley
Month 3 - High flow cat, P2R power package
Month 4 - Well it's faster than the Camry at this point, so whatever you want.

I have no clue where you live but pre-cat deletes and j-pipe with testpipe/racepipe is the best gains to me.

$1500 budget should get you the following parts including shipping costs to Canada via UPS:

1. AEM CAI - $275
2. P2R TB Package with thermal TB Gaskets - $100 if bought with AEM CAI
3. J-Pipe - ~$425
4. UR Crank Pulley - $210
5. Progress RSB - $160
6. Innovative Engine Mounts - so you can transfer the power better - $325

Or you can take the last two out and get better tires. If you need any of these parts let us know, except for the tires.

I think it only requires a bank account. I have a CC on mine as a back up, but I don't think it's required. Maybe to receive money? So you have a guarunteed form of payment incase you receive money and you rip someone off, they can charge you back.

paypal only neees a bank account. but any payment you send will take 3-5 days to clear, it is an "e-check". if you want immediate payment you need to add a credit card, or add your debit card from the beginning

What do you think: CT supercharger with precat delete, j-pipe, and 2.5" stainless tubing all the way to the back? It's gonna be monster gain and sound sick.

And after 6 months of modding you still have a 13 second car if you're lucky and it's still wrong wheel drive. Bad foundation for "serious" modding. But then again, an a-zine serious means a CAI and exhaust lol.

take that extra 1500 and a month and pay off your TL... Cars loose value... then you can garage it, buy a beater and take your time and spend your money wisely.
