Even though I just spent about $400 ( in February ) for custom Magnaflow, I'm really going towards the GHL system.

My " custom" guy could do it, but now is his busy time, and I wouldn't be able to get him to do it till the fall.

Plus I love the twin round tips. Kind of tired of the stock tips now.

I agree. It does look awesome. I am definitely waiting for this before I decide what exhaust to get. I was about to order the magnaflow stuff, so now I'm gonna hold off and see what happens.

Next weekend boys. Twigglius, you are hereby placed on restriction. You are not allowed to get hurt, or otherwise get in any trouble that woudl prevent you from driving to Mesa next weekend.

I left Jeff a voice mail about 15 minutes ago. I'll update you when I find out how the thumb is.

I am a fan of the stock ones but the duals are starting to rub off with me. By any chance is this going to create a new sound? I might have missed it but what brand mufflers do they plan on using?

Please reread my posts. GHL uses thier own patended design custom tuned mufflers in all thier exhaust systems. These mufflers are NOT 3rd party provided, but made in house for each application.

Yes, we're chasing "the perfect tone", which I suspect twigglius will ensure we get.

As Kennedy stated the mufflers are made in house and man oh man do they look nice.

I am also searching for the perfect tone and I hope I we can deliver this request that I konw we all have.

Just another thought, I was driving next to a VW GTI R32 and it sounded great! The VR6 motors have a great exhaust note. Maybe a combo of that and the G35 (but less raspy/choppy). Just a nice mellow, but noticeable grumble!

Guys, the stock look is probably not going to happen, for multiple reasons.

1) Why? If you like the stock that much, and want to do a custom exhaust, do a magnaflow and save $500 or so.

2) It's a cost driver due to the complexity. Square tips don't come out of a mandrel bender.

3) It's not unique... GHL want to design a cat back for us that frees power, adds a nice tone, and is unique to GHL. Most of thier systems on the market are duals or quads... It's kinda "what they do"... It's cheaper, easier, and is the look the manufacturer seems to prefer.

We'll talk about it again, but I don't think it's even going to be on the table...

The mugen exhaust tips arent really close to what I had in mind...they look more like 4 uncircumsized penises sticking out the rear bumper.

for those who have forgotten what the mugen tips look like:

in my opinion, the tips are too small, and from the side it just looks uuuugly. Sticks out waaay too much.

How far away are we from seeing the prototype? If it turns out right I am in on any GB for the cat back system. The only thing that prevented me from buying the Comptech was the tailpipe look. The last thing I want to do is make my TL look like a Civic with a fart can.

THank you!

LMAO!!..now that was funny..and at the same time.lol
the thing about our factory ones is that they are very unique..made just for our car and no one else has them or can get them with out some trouble because they are welded to the factory exhaust. I do like the dual tip look too...looks good on bimmers and others and that is their main look...has been for a while.

the Mugen tips are super ugly. Looks like they just pasted them on there. if they moved them back some maybe. I more wonder what they sound like if is a new muffler and not just tips added on.

Check out the Chrysler Crossfire! It has the same tips we do, except theirs are together on 1 muffler in the center of the car.

ok..maybe i wasn't detailed enough for some of you. YES! they are squarish but not like ours. YES! they are beveled inside but still not shaped like ours. Ours are more like a trapezoid, fitted for our car and bumper only. NOT universal![figured i'd use a few too] Everyone else, meaning car make and models, has a circle tip..its standard. You can have 2, 4, 6, even 8 as you please but still like the others. Standard 360 degrees. Couple custom made and high end cars have triangular tips more than before but the new euro civic has them now... Either way to each their own.

they have something similar on the new ones. They looked more rounded on the edges though. But that is ok because its an Acura car so it falls in line i with others. I guess they are trying to create a new exhaust distinction from other manufactuers or maybe trying to show some relationship between other cars in the Acura family.
