Take out the mid muffler.
Option 2, sell the TL and get a G35

So many of these threads lately, but what I have found to make the TL sound more G35ish is when I added my J-Pipe and had the mid muffler deleted.

^do what this guy said verbatim.

The j-pipe adds "13 WHP peak gained 7 WTQ peak gained."

Dont think so.
I gained power with just a jpipe only.

umm, with JPIPE only, I still gained.
so it doesnt matter about bottle necking.

Sure, you would gain more if you completed your full exhaust.
but for some one who just wants to add a jpipe, then there is gains to be had.

The exhaust gasses still PUMP out as quick as lighting. a gas, as opposed to a solid, takes the form of its container, and only wants to do one thing...which is to exit as fast as possible.

so going from a 2.5 to a 2.25 will not really BOTTLE NECK.

mr. batman, please stop throwing this word around.

P.S. with Jpipe only, I pulled on a stock 6MT.
Thank you.

to add; a cat back exhaust doesnt add very much hp. 7-10 at the most.
the most gains come from the PCD's.

then the jpipe.

with jpipe and PCD's i hit 241wheel horsepower.

if your "theory" is correct, I wouldnt have gained so much.

PCD's are "pre-cat deletes"

there are two primary catalytic converters coming off the heads.
we replace these with straight pipes.

you can snag the PCD's and Jpipe from
http://rv6-performance.com/

there is a deal going on right now for the jpipe!!!!

deleting your mid muffler will not fail emissions.

overall exhaust diameter is only as big as the smallest diameter in your whole pipe...

^ +2 What's more is the rv6 jpipe feels like it adds a little torque so it's a bit more fun driving around town, at least in the 6MT. I have the mid muffler deleted. I was considering the dynomax resonator but when a fellow AZ'ner rode in my car yesterday he thought the sound was just right.
