Exhaust/Cats

OK so I got a 2007 TL 3.5

I'm just starting to modify and decided to start with the exhaust system.

MY QUESTION what's will give me more horse power I already bought the J-pipe that deletes the 3rd cat

What is better to do with the other 2 cats replace them with the test pipes or get hi flow cats ???

Also what goes next after the j- pipe ???

Pre-Cat deletes which is the first cat. I don't know about the other.

And I'm pretty sure after the J-Pipe is just the rest of the exhaust piping (resonator and three mufflers).

I'm kinda newb so if other Acuraziners wanna correct me go ahead.

Deleting precats will free up some power as well. Ideally you want to start from the tips and modify back (towards the engine) as necessary, that way there's no choke points for pressure build up.

my exhaust will be catless in the next couple weeks

TL has 3 cats, 1 for each of the 3 cylinders and then 1 in the middle of the exhaust to further reduce emissions.

Removing the 2 pre-cats helps free up a bunch of top end power but you do loose a little low end power off the line.

Depending on what state you are in (emmissions testing) you might have to go with the high flow cats rather than the deletes. WIth the deletes and no 3rd cat, your exhaust will have a sweet syrupy smell to it and you'll need 02 defoulers to prevent a CEL.

since there are only one set of pre-cat deletes...there's no suggestions on which to choose....

if you are talking about the High flow cats that replace the two primary cats.....

you're going to have to decide BY YOURSELF! NOT US, on which route to go....
do you live in a state where they have strict emissions? if they hook up a sniffer to the back of the exhaust, you'll fail with PCDs

SO, AGAIN...this is NOT OUR DECISION...butt yours.

you're 26 man, you can look up the definition of resonate and then come up with a conclusion.....

and honestly, cat-backs are generally the same....you're, key phrase here....YOU ARE going to have to choose between price, sound, and customer service....

again, no one can do this shit for you. lmao.....
you're going to have to be the man and decide which exhaust you want..... and the deciding factors are; price, customer service and maybe how it sounds....

but that's the thing tho...opinions dont mean chit!!
what does matter, is price, customer service and lastly, sound...

catbacks are not going to add TONS of performance, its mainly there for sound...
so, if you are worried about making the wrong choice, get the cheapest catback you can find.

modding a car is about experimentation. YOU will not know the outcome of your mods, until you execute.

your decision is EASY. you only chose 2 exhaust brands....
the XLR8 and the EndlessRPM.

I bet if you head to youtube you can get a feel for how they sound...
now, which one is cheaper?
which one has the better customer service??

XLR8 has had issues with mufflers failing after about 2 years. Nothing but good things from Endless RPM and ATLP exhaust systems!

I know you meant in some cases (seen a few threads around about them). I have had my XLR8 exhaust for about 6 years and no issues at all. OP justnspace gave you exactly what you need to look for.

I'm a hater, but EndlessRPM sounds so muffled. It sounds like listening to someone talk to you while you cover your ears firmly; is that a good enough of an analogy?. It's just MagnaFlow muffler/resonators pieced together with a crappy TIG weld.
