Ethanol replacement of MTBE effects on our car...

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/loc...-local-harford

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the effects of the MTBE to Ethanol switch will be on our cars...specifically:

- gas mileage
- performance
- wear & tear
- price

Thank you!

Michigan has been using E90 fuel without MTBE for a long time now. I don't know about others, but our cars are running fine.

Would I use E90 instead of 100% gasoline if I had a choice? No. But in the great state of Michigan (oxymoron ), all "gasoline" despite octane ratings, are required to run 10% ethanol.

Go jam a bunch of HEET dry gas in your tank and find out for yourself what happens.
