E-Shift Pro Cats & Check Engine Light

For all of you with the ProCats, have you had any check engine lights come on? I am wondering if it is inevitable that you guys will have this problem..

Mine are coming in next week..............

The only thing I would worry about is the cooling fan motor. I have seen them burn out if they get too hot.

Not doubting the comment...but when have you heard this happen that one could attribute this to the Pro-Cat setup? It is wrapped with heat tape? Have heard NOBODY whatsoever mention this. Just wondering where you have seen this happen on a 3G TL? Not arguing with you....just wondering? This would be a FIRST I have heard?

Might not happen on the TL but I work on Chevy Impalla police cars and the cooling motors start buring out after 6 months due to the high exhaust heat. Both the stock TL and Impalla have shielded exhaust pipes but the Impalla's sit much closer to the fan motors.

Ok, the first hint was in the type of car you are talking about, a Chevy Impalla, not to mention these cars are used as police cars, they sit with the AC on for long periods of time. This means that the fans are constantly running, this will wear the motors on the fans.

I have not had any problems out of mine and love them, if you want a real increase, go for the cats!

The cats are also wrapped in heat wrap so there should be less heat in the engine bay and more heat in that cat.

Are you through your cat pre-orders and shipping new orders now?

Look at his signature, I didnt know that they made aftermarket Cams for our car. He also has comptech's adjustable fuel pressure regulator and pump. I wonder how that works. Something to look into. Oh shit here I go again.

With all that done to it, there no way to know where the CEL is coming from without putting a scan tool on it. It can be any number of things.

I had my check ingine line come on after I did my CAI. I had forgotten to attach the carb sensor in back when I started it for the first time. It stayed on for a couple days and then went away, just like the manual states will happen in this given situation.

Any chance that the CEL my have something to do with a sensor unplugged or out of whack?

Next time just remove the ground on the battery and let it sit for 2 hours and it should go off.

Just to clarify...

Any chance that the CEL issue with the pro cats is related to a sensor somehow?

They could be NSX cams.
