Dyno day for the Type-S
After the recent engine swap I wanted to verify the health of the motor. I had the heads rebuilt (with 12 new intake valves, replacing the bent ones) and a J35A8 block from an RL. I swapped over the RL cams while I had everything apart anyways. Amusingly, the first pull was no good, since we ran it in 5th gear (which is the closest to 1:1) and hit the 150-mph speed limiter before the power peak. The second run was in 4th gear and produced 246 horses, which isn't bad considering the shop is at about 2000 ft above sea level.
I was wondering whether there is any benefit in a mostly stock Type-S for a Hondata or similar tuning box?
