DYNO Charts Thread

Hey guy's

I thought it would be great to make a thread just for Dyno's. I personally don't have any dyno sheets, but I am tired of looking for performance documents for different parts, so i thought this thread should help. if this is a repost (I don't think so, cuz I have searched) then just forget about it, and post the link up for the dyno thread.

SO, if you have been on a dyno, please post up you chart's. et us know what dyno you were on , and what mod's were on the TL. This is for TL's only, please. It would also be great if you have dyno charts for specific parts like dyno chart with base TL with only a AEM CAI, or type-s with Comptech exhuast only. Thanks

Thanks,

Here are some dyno's I've found;

Ussi's dyno chart that you posted was all motor. He had already taken the supercharger off, I believe.

No to be rude but only 267whp? You can easily get that with a few bolt on parts. IMOylthat sshould be at least 300whp.

On a base 6spd um doubt that. Not a few bolts would bring it to that. He would have to be at almost fully bolted. That seems accurate enough with just a SC and tune.

He's at 5,280' altitude. Even on a corrected dyno, it's sometimes tough to pull decent numbers at that altitude.

And you can't "easily" get 267 whp with "a few" bolt on parts on a J32 A3.

A quarter mile timeslip thread would be good too. Be interesting to see how the dyno charts translate into actual performance.

There is a quarter mile time thread already established in the racing & competition section. That's still a better measure of real world performance.

def not a noob to dyno... I know numbers can be a tad different based on differebt models... 20+/-whp or tq.. not so much between those dynos... And in all actuality his 1st dyno is the highest reading dyno out.... Plus i do have a friend with similar mods and JJH still dynoed a significant difference in tq... Not so much hp but he was still about 19wtq more.. im gonna have to assume that there is a significant wtq increase unless u can show me otherwise

I did not said that.
That is a wrong speculation doing maths from a factory average crank power.
To calculate drivetrain loss you need the actual engine dyno of the specific motor. Do you have mine? Because I don't.
Just in case, I am 41 year old and I don't need to lie. I do not play the game some kids plays at forums.
I'm showing two real dyno plots, from two real dyno shops near Miami, before and after each modification. That is all.

Thanks. Apologies if I misunderstood the tone of your question.
I have to recognize the numbers freaks me out on the beginning on the first dyno shop, but them almost the same numbers was confirmed at the second dyno shop.
Please watch this video from the night we install the JnR MS3 witn Rodney (03/21/12):

I have question! The TL 04-05 have 270 hp, right? Why does it have at the dyno only 208 hp?

They were really only 258 at the crank in '04/05. The 270 was an inflated number that was deflated by the SAE's stricter guidelines for 2006. 208 is what actually made it to the ground after the parasitic loss from flywheel, transmission, half shafts, axles, rotors, wheels, tires. All that rotating mass consumes power. 208 is about right for a 5AT.

My dyno: Dynojet,91 octane, 3.7 manifold,ZDX throttle body, basic bolt ons. The only mods in the future I'd consider getting is the High flow cats/headers.

In my experience the auto loses about 60 HP and the 6 speed loses about 40 HP to drivetrain loss.

SAE is a correction that is base on weather and altitude if i remember right.

So a full-bolt on base model 6MT is good for roughly 265-270whp without a tune? Hmm.. Looking at picking up my 2nd TL this weekend and I'm wondering if that will be enough for me. Seems good enough for the street, wish we were at least as quick as E46 M3's now with all the new mods available. Oh well, the car's gorgeous anyways.

E46 came a faster car, came a sports car vs an entry level luxury car.. might be the wrong car to compare to... They also go for more $$$....

Just subtract 3-4% from the STD number for a ballpark SAE number. So that 250 (ok, a c-hair under 250) would be 240-243 SAE. Seems about right for the amount of bolt ons.
