I wouldn't do drilled rotors. But, slotted are

I personally think very highly of RacingBrake products: http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/ve...a.asp?model=TL

+1 I wouldn't go with drilled rotors. Studies have shown that drilled rotors have a higher tendency to crack under hard breaking conditions. The drilled holes are purely for aesthetic appearance, and i'll admit that they look good, but safety comes first.

Slotted rotors are good stuff though! Excelerate is having a clearance on rotors. Here is a link to the thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/excelerate-performance-rotora-spring-clearance-772936/

Slotted...99 percent of the time you will not use the full potential of drilled/slotted. They are only for aesthetics. Slotted is more than enough for street use and spirited driving.

I highly dout you will generate enough heat to crack a drilled rotor in street usage. Most of the cases where the rotors are cracking, a company takes a cheap rotor and drills them. If the rotor is high quality like Brembo or Rotora you should not run into any problems. Look at the number of factory sport model cars coming with drilled rotors. Mercedes, Porsche, SR-T's, etc.

Now I do agree if you ever plan on tracking the car or even doing auto-x regulary stick to the slotted rotors.

I'm happy with the rotors. They 500 pads seem to be making some funky grooves in the rotors but maybe they are just getting old.

I have seen people generate enough heat to start cracking the corners of Rotoras. We havent had that issue with stop techs though. Modulation is also nice with those.

I agree with you about cheap rotors and the lazy method that was used to make the holes in the rotors, but drilled rotors are going to be weaker than regular and slotted rotors nevertheless. The high end sport cars that come with drilled rotors from the factory have their rotors drilled before the forging process, therefore the rotors are stronger than aftermarket drilled rotors. However, drilled rotors these days are made for aesthetics and to attract buyers with a more sporty look. Car companies need to sell cars, and drilled rotors help them do that.

so stop tech is an OK rotor? I think I have to replace mine in the near future and I was thinking of going with those.

I run EBC Sport Disc. They are slotted and dimpled, so it looks like crossed drilled once the dimples turn black with brake dust. They grab almost instantaneous when hitting the pedal.

http://www.ebcbrakes.com/automotive/...t_rotors.shtml

I did run some cross drilled/slotted from ebay and I managed to crack the front rotors. The reason these High end sports cars are able to run cross/drilled no problems is because the rotor itself and thicker and larger. You take a thin little rotor and try to add holes in it you're going to run into problems.
