DC Sports CAI - New?

You can find more information below or on DC sports website. It looks like this may be the cheapest option for a well known Manufacturer. Anyone have this intake - what are your thoughts? I've seen other vendors sell this for 135 new..

I say buy it and let us know how you like it. Pretty much there is no difference in CAIs. Its all just pipe with a filter.

The DC sports still ends up cheaper buying it from us. We only charge $9 shipping, and that site charges $25

Myron just watch you don't also get hit with brokerage charges too especially if its via FedEx or the likes.

Sometimes they do the clearance .. pay duty etc then put a % on it for all that and it can bite.

Ok I have a question on that intake ... says the filter requires no oil... BUT is it washable ... if not what is the cost of a replacement filter.

They are a tube with a filter on it BUT the filter can make a difference. Porosity of the paper , the amount of paper , bunch of factors.

yea I know there is that % you have to pay when it gets to you. I learned with the lip kit that I got from a vendor here. I wasn't gonna order this anyways, well not at the moment. Saving up money for tires and timing belt change. Maybe rolling of the fenders.

a filter is a filter is a filter, if you dont like that filter, which I wouldnt either if it was not K&N, just buy one of your liking to put on the end of that CAI

And there goes the savings .. Point I was making is filters are not all the same in performance ... they prolly don't make thier own so they can use a good or bad one. If its a throw away then you have replacement costs v/s cleaner costs as in the AEM.

You can have a lot more or less sq. in. of paper accordianed in the filter which can effect air flow. Some papers in the filters can have a higher porosity to gain flow which in turn increases entry of microscopice particulate.

So a filter isn't just a filter.

Well I shouldnt have been so vauge, I do agree they are different in the aspects you mentioned, but then again where driving TL's not a million dollar race machine. Put a good filter on it and call it a day, above mentioned 135 shipped plus an average of 50-60 filter of your choice, puts you around 180-190, your still saving lots over the AEM piece of you know what.

Very good price and as mentioned, I would like to know the quality of the filter that comes with it. How well it repels water, etc.

Picked it up a couple days ago. I don't know much about filters, but this one seems appears to be a quality one.

Just installed it yesterday. It's not noticeable until you hit 3.5k rpm. When you got WOT, you'll definitely hear it. I'll try to take a sound clip later.

How did you even make that assumption?

There's obviously more to a intake than sound. I was just curious how it sounded like.

Somebody get this guy a chill pill.

ArthurL: Your post clearly stated that you wanted a sound clip of this intake, if you are choosing an intake on the sound it makes then dont bother getting one because you are getting one for the wrong reason.
