DashDyno Tool? thoughts?
Not sure if anybody has ever heard of these, but they are quite popular
http://www.dashdyno.net/product/dashdyno.html
this ebay link sums up alot of the features, capabilites and screen shots
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DashD...mZ320249059034
I have been contemplating getting a Scan Gauge II for quite some time, and im my recent research, I've been running into this product ALOT. Its the same concept, but with a LOT more features
It even has dyno capabilites, with uploadable software to your computer for actually printing dyno charts... Now, we all say these things are unaccurate (like g-timers and all the similar) but If i actually compare it to a recent chart, and the numbers are accurate or within a close ratio, i now have a full time reading dyno in my car
As well as IAT temp, oil temp, a/f, and sooo much more. Check the link and you can see all the things that this does. It even has aux ports, so you can just hook up like another guage, defi or whatever.
It is a little pricey though.... best I've found so far is around $400 shipped. But think of all the money that can be saved on Dyno's if this is an accurate reading tool.
It also offers 0-60 , 1/8 & 1/4 miles and all that stuff.....
thoughts??

Why can't they make these things a little better looking?
I'm still skeptical about it being as accurate as actually taking your car to the dyno, I would want to see some evidence / comparisons.
Overall, I think this is an awesome tool.

initially when I was looking for a dashboard meter, I looked at this one, really overpriced... I rather have something else for the price... ie. oil temperature gauge, water temperature gauge or even an aem uego... after all is said and done... this little thing is the price of 15 dyno pulls...
ps. I would get a scangauge II if I were you

i dun think u can do oil temp/oil pressure with this thing......unless u hook it up with an external sensor....
i have the scangaugeII actually....i think wut this device does for extra is the logging and dyno capability.

Looks pretty cool to me, but then again, I'm a charts and graphs kind of guy.
Accuracy is the concern (well and cost). It looks like (in the one comparision) that the math is smoothing and extrapolating pretty linearly. It results in higher estimates than the actual dyno run and, of course, a lot less spikey.
But if the thing is consistent, it could be a nice guage for what various changes on the car do for you, even if the HP/Torque numbers are not exact.

Scangauge ftw.
It reads oil, and tranny temps for trucks. I emailed Scangauge asking if they had any codes to do the same for Acura/Honda...they never replied
Here is mine in upper cubby, with EDFC below.
My current readings are now:
o MPG INTAKE TEMP o
o HP WATER TEMP o

Hey man... I had mine done at the dealership
yes, i did get raped ($400) but they were ready when the car was new for delivery (no waiting or not rolling down the windows) and i they are warranted FROM the dealership. plus, they did a great job. alot of people, their little quarter window doesnt come out right (my last car) but it came out perfect this time. they also line the window rail with felt to prevent scratchs, but they are still inevitable... so, atleast once they get bad enough, ill bring it to the dealer to be re-tinted
