Custom Quad-Tips Axle-back for base 3G A-Spec

Long time lurker, don't post much. Just wanted to share the custom quad axle-back I got done on the gf's base 3g with a-spec rear. Came out looking similar to the ATLP quads. Results below. labor was around $300 and $45 each for the ebay mufflers. Just wanted to share for those wanting exhaust options w/o spending an arm and a leg for full catback. Results below

would it look better if the tips were cut at an angle?

if you're referring to a normal downward angled cut, I felt it didn't look right with the staggered/offset look. If you're referring to the sideway angle like the Type-S, as much as I like that look, I wanted to avoid doing a 'type-s' exhaust.

Again, it really depends (in general) what you like. In this case, OP likes it with no angles.

I don't have any sound clips, plus i find most 'sound' clips to be nothing more than misleading when it comes to deciding on exhaust. the mufflers were cheap ebay universal, had i known that I had to redo the tips, probably would have went for a magnaflow

Well, the muffler he bought included the tips, so I assume the shop had to re-adjust the tips to fit the opening of the TL.

I have base bumper so probably best to get single tip then. I really don't wanna spend a crap load for no real gains. I just want sound, but scared of the honda law mower sound.

But looks good, think I'll try it

Go with whichever you find best.

I know I like the OEM exhaust tip best, but extended further out.

most muffler comes with 3" tips, even sitting flushed next to each other, the dual 3"s wouldn't fit in the a-spec 3.6"ish opening. We ended up ditching the 3" and simply polished up some 2.25" pipes and welded/angled them closer to each other to clear the slot.

The biggest problem with the TL's exhaust and bumper is the clearance and how the opening is angled(which IMO, makes single tips looks bad, hence the oem tip is angled as is the type-s with the offset). Most muffler needs to sit at an angle and most tips needs to be extended. So regardless, most muffler you buy, will need some custom welding of the tips or it will likely be tucked in. If you want single tip, just go for one of the vendor's or get whatever topspeed knock-off for $500 and call it a day.

I got the one with the fake titanium burnt tips with the intention of them fitting in the a-spec. I'd recommend going with a universal magnaflow or dynamax some name brand bc the cheap ebay ones have really thin walls and drones comes through the cabin easier.
