I recently came across a video on youtube of a custom magnaflow exhaust

main reason for this post is to hear what you guys think and if i should go with this setup (full catless straight pipe) or go with a XLR8 catback exhaust

idk if this will be considered a repost but i tried searching for magnaflow and found nothing so lets not be harsh?

personally i like the sound but in NJ it will be illegal so if you guys have any ideas of which exhaust i should get which cost less than $1,000

 

what u have to consider is also that this is vid and the true sound of the car is always a lil off cuz of the vid. anyways if i were u i would wait alil longer and get the rv-6 exhaust. never disappoints and its going to be the best exhaust made jst like the j-pipes he made. tops all. anyways good luck.

first video sounds like shit. your video I can see how you may like that but I am not feeling it on a tl. I would think it was good on a sports car of some sort or a car that was meant to sound like that. To me that's just an over kill for a luxury sedan.

 

I totally agree. Comes off like a exhaust on a V6 domestic.

 

ya it all depends what ur looking for. def. respect the fact that ur trying to keep that luxury sound. but ya if u heard my car now u would really hate it lol crazy loud now. it all depends on the person

different strokes for different folks right. Glad you like it. Are you running a resonator or a mid muffler or is there just a straight pipe after precat deletes and J-pipe all the way to the muffles? And would it "tone down" the exhaust a little if you put a resonator there?

 

I've heard this in person and as it came rolling up for a RJ photoshoot and it definitely peaked my interest. I thought it sounded great!

 

WHen i had that set up in the video it was precat deletes into xlr8 j pipe into a magnaflow resonator then the mufflers with 2.5 inch piping. ya i mean if u get a bigger resonator it will be more toned down. I forgot how long my magnaflow (maybe a 14inch) resonator its somewhere in my thread.

Agreed...my magnaflo doesn't sound anything like a fartcan...I get complements a LOT.

 

the sound you are all complaining about isnt all from the muffler you have to put the pre cats and 3rd cat into consideration....if you delete those you will sound rice unless you get resonators and midmufflers. Magnaflow is that shit cuz is has straight thru design which equals more hp gains...if all your concerned about is sound, put a skirt on and join the choir
