Custom Magnaflow Exhaust

Hello everyone. I just got my car back and it sounds good because I got a Magnaflow exhaust. I bet you are asking yourself if you've missed that one. Don't worry. This is a custom job, but if magnaflow made an exhaust for our cars this is exactly what it would sound like.

I did the stage two mod.(Delete mid-muffler,magnaflow resonator prt#10416)
Two Magnaflow mufflers to swap with the stockers. (prt#14362) They are polished.

I got the mufflers for $85 each off of ebay.

And the Dual tips are 3" triple chrome from ebay. They were $100 for the pair. Mad props to Etohprn247 and SPORTNTL for the idea.

Here is the link to that thread. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/muffler-exhaust-tip-ideas-704965/

It took the exhaust shop 2 tries to get it right, but they worked with me and did a good job. It cost $250 to get it done. Probably cause they had to do it twice. And they had to modify the rear y-pipe to get the tips straight.

Now onto the pics. And video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmRfQn2KFDM

And a money shot.

Thank you everyone for your help.

That's funny. That is a shed. No car could fit in that thing. It's for lawn equipment. Thanks for the comment.

Good post. Sounds very nice, i would defenetly roll with that exhaust sound. Good job.
So all you did was change the oem resonator with magnaflow one and change out the oem mufflers with magnaflow mufflers and you got this awsome sounding exhaust?

Well, even though it looks like it the tips are a single in and dual out. I bet true quads would sound better. I look foward to hearin it.

I think with mine though I have to remove the plastic lining around the bumper cut outs. I was surprise you got the two tips to fit without removing it.

I didn't get a look at the hanger, but I think they are new hangers. It does look like it sits a little too low. I think I have a cheaper solution to getting a type-s bumper. If I remove the plastic exhaust surrounds and bend the hanger to shorten it some it should snug righ up in the hole and look like it belongs. I'll check on that this week. See what I think.

The tips have to be absolutley straight through the hole to fit with the surround still on. Even then there is at most 1/8" clearance on either side.

Doh I cant go to ebay at work. Reason why I am asking is because the tips on my muffler are almost 6.5 inches wide and was worried about fitment.

You should just get the rear type-s aspec lip so you don't have to worry about it. I love mine......make me need a dual tip

I'm probably going to get some Magnaflows with dual outs and a good set of tips in the near future. Love my Comptech, but the tips aren't big enough anymore.

Are the tip holes bigger on the A-spec lip?

No. I don't have an intake. I plan on getting the AEM V2 sometime.

the bumper cut out is wider.
Ahhhh. Now I can justify getting the a-spec lips.

not just any aspec rear underspoiler ... the TYPE-S aspec rear underspoiler ... if you have the 04-06 rear bumper then it will require some cutting and other small modifications to have the type-s rear aspec spoiler put on ... the newer rear bumper was differently designed to have a larger opening

it sounds really good. im surprised it actually sounded that good. i always thought magnaflows sound like shit

now the looks...honestly, it looks like shit. you either need to get the type-s aspec, or switch to single tips. the gap is just

but none the less, sounds sick!

Can't get anymore honest than that.

There is constructive criticism and then there are your posts. I know you are being honest, but there has to be some filter between your brain and mouth

+1 on getting an aspec. personally i think the tips look awkward where they are sitting right now because all that space above the tip from the muffler to the bumper cutouts.
