Custom Icebox & Pedals! *PIX*

Hey guys...so I just recently finished my custom icebox intake...most of you guys have probly seen these done before (i.e. spiike; thanx for the helpful info)...I love everything about it...and living up here in canada, i kno it will hold up well through out the winter...it does make the signature intake whistle (which i love)...along with that i also added the K&N drop in filter and did the stage 3 exhaust! the way my car sits now, the sound is almost perfect! just wish it was a tad bit louder. here are some pix of the setup...i think it turned out really well!

Also got around to doing my pedals...i think these came out perfect, and as close to oem as it gets! If anyone is interested these are strutking pedals!

Questions and comment are welcome! thanx

i think thats a bad idea quite honestly. it doesnt get direct air flow unless you cut a hole in the bumper right there. if i was you i would make some sort of air duct to direct the air towards the opening

Should be right behind the grill part. You could always run some minor ducting...Mine is just on my intake itself sinec I already have a CAI.

I'm guessing you already know about the air flow duct in the lower grill! Mine sits perfectly level with that... and i kno its benefiting considering my mileage has almost increased by 100 km's to the tank! anyone who thinks this is a bad idea should rethink what they're saying...essentially its the same thing as a cold air, but my filter still sits in the stock location.

Hi Marx, I live in Toronto, too. Can you give me your parts dealer location? I want try it out. How is your gas mileage per tank? The best I can do with my car is 400km per tank and only city traffic. So, I want to see if this mod can improve gas mileage. Anyway, Thank you for reply.

Well, right now im testing it out and it looks like im gonna get about 550 km to the tank...which i find pretty decent...i did make a little mistake in one of my earlier posts, but this mod was quite expensive! if u want to check www.vibrantperformance.com they have all the parts there...they also have a dealer locator to help find the nearest one...the parts i ordered from them were a 4" v-stack ($60), 4" straight coupler (15), and a 4" to 3" reducer coupler (30). Some of the other parts i used were 5 hose clamps, a custom mounting braket, and a 3" 60* abs pipe. I hope this helps! let me know if u need anythin else!

Is there a panel for the dead pedal as well?

They look like strut king pedals. You can order them from corsport USa. The Vstack you can find cheaper on ebay. Thats where I got mine.

I bought my pedals staight off the strutking website...received them in less than a week! i dont think strutking has a dead pedal for the tl, but if so does anyone have a pic of it! As for the v-stack, i just looked on ebay and there arent any 4" stacks cheaper then i picked mine up for! but i guess u can give it a shot

Mine was a 3" I didnt see you got a 4". I just adapted mine to my CAI. Corsport sells it for the same price as the strut king people also. Strut king doesnt have a dead pedal but I wonder if you can use one off another vehicle that is approximately the same size for application.

Actually i msged the people over at strutking and they told me the only way they would fab up a dead pedal was if we got a group buy going...they also told me my other option would be taking the stock dead pedal off a tsx/accord and swapping them into the tl...then purchasing the aftermarket pedal they sell. i was gonna take this route, but noticed the type s doesnt even have a stainless steel dead pedal. either way...i love the pedals and get alot of compliments on how oem they look!

Pretty much personally I don't see a need for a fancy aluminum pedal there lol. Just the clutch, brake, accel is plenty for me as long as they grip.
