Considering a cam upgrade...

I'm torn between the 07-08 Type S cams and the 06-08 RL cams for my full bolt on's 06 TL 5AT. What is everything I need? I compiled a short list of what I think I need -

1. Type S or RL front/rear camshafts
2. Valve Springs
3. Retainers

Anything else? And I found the Type S cams on EndlessRPM but would prefer the RL cams since they seem to be better with low end power which I'm lacking right now. Thanks. Mod list is below.

AEM 3.25 inch Cold Air Intake
Throttle Body Coolant Bypass
J37 Throttle Body
J37 Intake Manifold
P2R J37 Throttle Body Spacer
P2R J37 Intake Manifold Spacer
P2R J37 TB Thermal Gasket x2
P2R J37 IM Thermal Gasket x1
RV6 Hi-Flow PreCats
ATLP V2 J-Pipe
JE Test Pipe
Vibrant 2.5 inch Inlet/Outlet Ultra Quiet Resonator
XLR8 Y-Pipe
Rear Mufflers Delete w/ XLR8 Single Tips
AEM Fuel/Ignition Controller
BoomSlang Adapter Harness
Drilled/Slotted Front & Rear Rotors
Hawk HPS Brake Pads
Pro-Tuned By JE Import Performance

I'm not sure the extra head hardware is required with those cams...

Buy real camshaft. RL/TLs are minimum gains. I have tl-s so I know. Also With PnP cylinder heads it was meh....

I sixth that those cams aren't worth the trouble.

With the AEM FIC you are able to adjust fuel but would wouldn't be able to fully unlock the true potential of an aftermarket cam. If your serious talk to gerzand (Andy) he has the experience.

Come on now guys... You don't have to go with killer cams to get some gains. It just depends on what your end goal is.

I would only consider doing cams if you have J&R or FP tuning options.

TL-s and RL camshaft at most net 5whp. So cost to benefit is less then ideal especially when you have to factor in labor, valve spring, and retainers.

If you get bisi stage 2 is might be worth it. My friend will be doing a stock vs bisi stage 2 dyno in a few months. They cut him a deal for the camshaft, retainers, and springs.
