Comptech short shifter - WOW!!

What an unbelievable difference!! It's the best $50 I've ever spent!

I couple of things I noted during the install: As the great write-up says in another thread below, there is no need to remove the glove box or the plastic side piece on the pass. side. There's no need to disconnect the power outlet wire from the console because it is plenty long enough to set the whole assembly in the driver's footwell. There's no need to remove the metal bracket from the air ducting assembly. That little clip that holds the shift rod bushing into the cable is a major PITA to put back in given the cramped space you have to jam your fingers into.

All of the parts you'll come into contact with are sharp - I have like 5 cuts on my knuckles.

All in all, well worth it!!

Weighted shift knob is a must with Comptech SS. Will make a world of difference.

I also think is one ( if not) the best mod I've installed on the TL, funny how my wife says she doesn't feel the difference .....

I use Skunk 2, since they made specifically for Honda/Acura cars. There's also this one, which is heavier, but universal http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftknobs/

I am not sure if I want the Skunk2 or the Titanium S2000 knob. I will decide soon. I do agree that a wieghted knob would make a huge difference in the feel. The shortness of the shifts is great, but it feels like you have to fight it more due to the extra length.

I was going to get the knob when I got the shifter, but didnt have the funds at that time. I had gotton the shifter, Dom's Nav2DVD, and the Blitzsafe Aux in. Since I had the console apart, I figured I might as well do it.
