I am debating if I should buy the Comptech Exhaust for my 05 TL. How much "louder" is the exhaust from the stock one? Does anyone have a sound clip that compares the two or just the Comptech sound clip? I live in the Chicago Land area and are willing to drive few miles to check it out as well. I need to make my decision quick. Please help.

It sounds pretty good IMHO. I would most deff get it again if I had the choice. The exhaust isn't too loud and it has a nice deep purr.

 

The fitment on these exhaust is perfect. I've installed several and they are top notch. Overall build quality is excellent and tips are symmetrically placed and are centered perfectly. The exhaust is quiet at idle but deep and throaty at WOT. It is not loud though so if you are looking for a loud exhaust this is not the one to get unless you want to remove the resonator.

 

that is what is keeping me from buying it. if i can find a used one for under 750, i'd go for it.

 

I got the Comptech Supercharger and the Exhaust put on at the same time about two months ago. I absolutely love the sound of the exhaust and would highly recommend it (and Excelerate by the way). I had the same concern you do. I'm a 31 year old sales professional and am on the road alot making phone calls to clients. I was afraid the exhaust might be too loud at 70+ mph and interfere with calls. It is not. It sounds purrrfect, like a V-8. You definitely get the feeling that you're sitting in a faster car when you turn the ignition. That low "throatiness" guys talk about is at the perfect volume and tone, I promise you'll enjoy it. I also love the stainless steel pipes tucked underneath the back (I have the A-Spec kit).

The greatest testimonial I can give? Whenever possible, I drive with the radio off and the windows down so I can hear the whole symphony! (that supercharger sound is addictive)
