Unhappy Cold Air Intake Help!!!!!

Hey guys, I recently got my 04 TL and I've added Tein Drop, Axis Rims, Blue LED Dome Lights, and 15% tint and 35% tint. Now I want to add a CAI. Basically I am torn between 2 CAI's. They both are from heeltoe auto. I want to know three things: Which is better quality, which has a better bang for the buck, and which gives me the better performance boost.

Here they are:
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/AEM-Perfo...-pr-62616.html

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Injen-Col...-pr-61526.html

The first is:
AEM Performance V2 INTAKE SYSTEM

The second is:
Injen Cold Air RD Series Race Division Intake Systems

Please give me your input!!!!!!

Does the sound of this V2 beat the RD Injen, and is it much more of a diff than the v1?

I'm also interested in the sound difference/description between the V1 and the V2.

I cannot speak to the sound difference, as I have only owned the V2.
AEM does not make a V2 specifically for the TL---you must use the Accord version. Some early buyers were having trouble with the placement of the stickers on the unit, but AEM have begun shipping them with the stickers not attached so you can apply them after install and they look great:

On a scale of 1-10, how hard is it to install a CAI? I imagine the hardest part is taking off the A-Spec lip and front bumper.

Anyway, OP, the AEM V2 is the way to go. I've only heard good things about it.

+2....It's been well discussed and I am sure the majority will agree. I see a few Injens out there but AEMs have been tried and true and you can't go wrong. The pull from 4-5k rpms is definitely crazy. That is the big difference between V1 and V2. And then of course the sound. It just resonates and roars. With ATLP quads it is matched perfectly. You have to hear that intoxicating combo when VTEC kicks in! Car has BALLS!

Removing the whole bumper is a waste of time and I can't believe it is suggested to do so. Some like to go through the wheel well as an alternative to the removal of the front bumper but they say its a tight squeeze and may scratch your intake. When I installed my V2 a few days ago I found it easiest to just partially remove or loosen the front driver side of the bumper (intake side), this way you can have access to the intake without the tight squeeze or removing the whole bumper, also I have an Aspec kit as well. Thats what I did and it worked out perfectly.

That's good to hear. Gives me a bit more confidence if I do choose to do it myself.

Its a really easy install, just take your time and do everything correctly and there shouldn't be any problems. Check out the 3G garage, there are DIY videos on how to remove the front bumper and how to install a CAI. Good luck and happy modding!
