Clutch package ADVICE

Is there a big difference between an OME clutch, and an aftermarket preferably 6 plug clutch? TL 05

Yes, I'm running the six puck P2r disk and the hold is a lot stronger as well as the engagement being rougher. The only real reasons to switch from a stock clutch is if you are making too much power for it to handle or you want to get rid of the dual mass flywheel and go to a conventional set up.

Yes, I am thinking a 6 puck sprung clutch as well just to get away from the stock setup of self adjusting clutch.

The initial cost is more but if future mods warrant then even an all-motor build would benefit from this.

Do it right the first time.

1300 for a full kit like CM or XLR8. I know a lot of people say get fiber tough stage 3 CM, but don't do it Fiber tough (AKA kevlar) means it doesn't last very long especially if you do a lot of city driving.

The six puck P2r disk is $200 and works with all stock clutch components, just swap in the disk. As long as you understand it's a race clutch and expect that type of engagement, it's fine. I have about 30k or more on it.

I have had no problem with my Clutch Master Stage 3 Kevlar at all. There is no reason you would need a 6 puck whatsoever if you plan on just doing an all motor build.

People be doing all bolt ons but wanna get stage 3 6puck clutches... Not needed unless ur foing with some kind of forced induction setup or just wanna sound cool saying you have a 6puck clutch setup lol....I wish there was more clutch selection... To be honest on a typical NA 300ish whp build a stage 1 clutch is more than enough lol... Wish exedy made a stg1 setup... Just something outside of that luk oe replacement

Look on his site there is a ton of clutches for the base 6 speed. I have said this before, but I ran the stock clutch thru 320 WHP will no slippage issues. Only changed the clutch to match the extra power of the turbo. I like the conventional clutch setup, ( sprung clutch disk and solid flywheel) but $1300 for no more holding power is a lot to pay.
