CAI in Florida Rain
I did a lot of research on this forum before buying the full CAI and only balked because I know 2 people that have hydro-locked engines in Florida floods (for the record, both were car ignorant and sat submerged while cranking the engine). Just couldn't bring myself to go half way with the short ram and took the chance on the full.
Well, it's no $hit been raining for 3 weeks straight in NE Florida and although I haven't hit any serious road ponds, the CAI (AEM) has showed no adverse affects.
Shout Out to the uber geek gear heads that settled the hydro-lock myths!
(Watch me blow the sucka up on the way home this evening!)

Can you believe 1 hr after I post this I'm driving around NAS Jax (pond), dodging the maze of flooded intersections and I see this slammed Integra sitting in a foot of water with his hazards on...damn.
I hope my pre-planned response of slapping it in neutral and killing the ignition will save my butt if this friggin' rain doesn't let up.

I am pretty sure you are good if you slap it in neutral and shut off the ignition, but then you got to wait for the filter to dry....

oh, slow is no question. But I think even at idle you'd be screwed if submerged.
Every time I post on this thread it starts raining...evil thread.

dude, where in NY does a puddle even get that big? the only place i can think of is old un-finished parts of the LIE but that's changing...
i think like 3 years ago some parts of flushing flooded ONCE? my bigger question is what if you park the TL outside, and it blizzards, is it possible snow gets built up in there?
After I'm done with school out here in St. Louis i definately wanna check out some of the NY AZ 3Gs

WARNING
Do not drive with the cruise control on in rain- especially heavy pounding rain
you hit a big puddle and experience the cruise control fighting with the traction monitors
The book says dont do it- there must have been some scary test to make them put it in the manual !!
