brake pads and rotors .. oem or aftermarket?
My maintenance is due and thus far I have been going to a local mechanic for routine oil changes and breaks pads, however, they are aftermarket and the pads they used last time warped my rotors because they were to thight ...
I was told by Acura that the rotors can be resurface and it be wise if I use authentic break pads ..
My question is should I just buy the OEM break pads for 70 front and 73 back or should I buy some high quality break pads? if so which one ..
Also, should I resurface the rotors or buy new ones ....

The rotors and pads need to be matched or compatable. If you are running aftermarket pads you also need the rotors. I am using Rotora pads and rotors and have not had a problem. I have heard that turning stock rotors is a bad idea on the tl because they are prone to warp if too thin. The cost to machine the rotors is many times close or more than buying new rotors from the aftermarket

I'd recommend getting some STOPTECH or ROTORA slotted rotors and a good ceramic pad (you can use OE or ROTORA). The factory rotors are prone to distortiong (at least if you have the A/T).
We have pricing on our website at http://store.excelerateperformance.com Use promo code AZ ROTORA for a discount on the rotors if you are interested.

i swapped for Racing Brake brand rotors and pads (ET500) and have been VERY happy! bought them from one of the vendors on here, Mr. Heeltoe...link below. Just click on the "Build own brakes" buttons at the bottom of page to check prices. Great vendor and AWESOME brakes, i highly recommend both. Excelerate, you are great too!

Drilled and slotted or just drilled are fine as long as it's drilled properly. ROTORA, STOPTECH, etc machine the rotors properly so you shouldn't have any issues. Functionally, the drilled/slotted and the slotted are the same so adding the holes is really more for aesthetic purposes.
