brake Ducted my 5AT

Hey guy just finsih my brake duct today, the reason Im doing it cause one day I was touging and right after I finish the brake is start smoking so I want to do something to cool off the rotors a bit, I already upgraded to EBC red stuff pad and EBC soltted rotors(didnt change to brake fluid cause im lazy),the pad was good I can brake alot later compare to stock pad but one bad thing is the ABS kick in a bit earlier than stock but over all i think is very good upgrade for 5AT total I spend it $250 pad and rotors and I change it myself so no labor charge, and here is some picture of the installation.

P.S. this mod you will not feel anything but it will make your pad/rotors not going to over heat that fast,so this is for people that track or touge their's TL.

this brake duct is not a "real" duct is just some hose that I bought at walmart and is for the RV(not sure what is for) but is alot checper than the real one ($100/set comapre $10/set)

looks like you really like to stop on a dime...

by the way do you think all of those twists and turns in the tubing make for an efficient system? i think a set of rims with a fan shape would do just the same amount of cooling as your dryer tubing here. try to make a turbo in your spare time rather than a rotor lung.

I don't do that spirited of driving so this isn't for me.. plus I have the Brembos.

But hey, you were creative and made something from scratch that you need, good work!

Fan shape rims?never heard of that dont you have any picture?, well there people doing this on their and have pretty good feedback on this mod and about the twists and turn I already use a dryer to check the flow and the twists didn't made too much different. and turbo kits I will look in to that and let you guy know.

Pretty neat.

The nasa track cars all have brake cooling ducts just like the one you've come up with.

that duct is a very good idea, you should consider finding a filter for it in the event a rock flings around in there.

Like mid-80's corvette wheels. a fan is built into the shape of the spokes of the wheels. They are different for the left and right sides of the car, in order to blow air toward the brakes.

Ive had this idea as well, and as i myself may not be so hard on the brakes...i was thinking about something for my air "under" the hood to help with all those plastic covers trapping heat.

Looks good, even thought with my ride height it would drag like hell.

I would highly suggest replacing the brake fluid. My brakes used to smoke up pretty bad, after certain roads, and I've replaced it with Motul RBF600, and it's tremendously reduced fade and also reduced the boiling point of the fluid greatly.
