Been doing some Beta testing for piggyback
Been working with another member on on developing this piggy back and just wanted to share some results. He calls it RevBox, its a plug and play unit that autotune the AFR to what you program it. So in this case 13.1 AFR during close loop.
AFR is currently set for 13.1. Will test out 13.5 AFR once I get the new firmware.
Pix of early stage

Pix as of last week

Product is working like it should for open loop tuning. Yellow line is WOT and red is AFR. At WOT AFR drops down to the targeted ~13.1. When out of the WOT range it drops back to stock map. Stock map AFR is ~14.6-14.7
This is no hondata, but its the closest thing that we have for the AV6 and can be adapted to the 04-06 TL. As of right now its only AFR close loop tuning. No timing advance at least for the time being.

Here a video of the User Interface. I did a few run and you can see open loop is 14.4-15.0AFR anything above that is because I let go of the throttle and it was curising.
Numbers in the 13's are WOT and are reflected by the rapid climb of RPM
Its a long video with no audio and I need to find out the time I did the wot run so that you don't have to sit through 13 mins of boringness.
I will try to upload another video of the updated UI since it now can read both O2 sensor independently. Also just got the new firmware for 13.5 AFR.
There is also another beta tester and he has access to a dyno. He showed a gain of 3whp/6wtq, but the unit wasn't running correctly and only gave him an AFR of 14.0-14.1.
So still room for improvement. This was about 2 weeks ago. So new maps have been updated.

Hey guys, I'm the developer so if you have any questions feel free to ask. Here's a demo of it dynamically targeting 13.1 AFR on the dyno (you can set the target to whatever you want per RPM segment) via MAP voltage offsetting. You can see it also has the capability of logging a number of other ECU parameters and reacting to them so those that want to run nitrous can setup a number of window safeties such as min/max AFR, intake temp, timing, throttle, manifold pressure, rpm, closed/open loop (fuel mode), etc. all from the factory sensors.

Trying to give the 04-06 people another option besides the FIC for N/A bolt-on since this doesn't require someone to tune it. Just plug it, in choose a map, load it, Run it, and done. It is also way cheaper then the idea of doing the 08 ecu swap + hondata, granted that they don't mind not being able to tune timing advance. Plus the AT guys get some loving also since it will work with both AT and MT
If you guys want to read more there is a pg.24 on v.6.p. I am just going to post up the data I collected to help keep this thread clean. Search for "Reasonably priced piggyback"

I'd been monitoring this project over on the other forum for a while. Glad to see that it's still being worked on.
Unfortunately it won't work for me, but it's still a nice bit of kit for those light to mildly modded folk.

I bought the AEM harness (not included in the price) and send it to him to have him soldier it for me. So its plug and play, but you can definitely soldier it yourself. Never splice for this since it can come loose and screw up your ecu, or even worst your motor.
I want to say I can feel it but it might just be in my head. Probably an extra 5-7whp. But definitely increase power throughout the power band when in WOT. I believe the unit is set to take over at 70% throttle input. From what I notice the ECU does not fight with piggy back and override all the configs.
For gas I can't really tell a different. I usually get 22-24 mix and 30+mpg on the freeway. The car is in close loop and this unit does not tune close loop. So it will be what ever AFR that factor is.
If you are interested in the unit you can contact ethanemc505 and ask him about it. Its currently only me and Atlas.46 that is running it.
If you go on V.6.p and search "Reasonably priced piggyback feeler" you can read about the progress of the unit.

his boosted and has a built motor. hahah
This is just for simple bolt on. Altas.46 has a PnP head and upped the compression from 10.1:1 to ~11:1 since Paul shaved the head.

Just a heads up the developer is going to add timing advance
and he is offering it for a reasonably price
. Way cheaper then hondata
Just going to wait for the new board revision

awesome.
If this has the harness it could be a nice middle ground between the AEM FIC and a Flashpro, if the 04-06 guys don't end up with a fully functioning Flashpro hybrid, because I don't think the FIC gives you timing advance, just AFR if I recall.
You wouldn't have idle speed control or VTEC engagement tweaks, rev limit changes, etc., however, this sounds like it could be a great option for basic tuning needs.
the FIC i always thought was just too rough around the edges as a product.
props to the people working on this.

its on v6p. We are trying to get 10 people as a feeler, he might need a gen 3 TL to do testing on to make sure that the crank sensor is reading properly so that it can actually do the timing adjustment.

System is still in my car but cant really test it right now seeing how clutch is slipping :-(
Ordering a new clutch/pp this week(Still debating stock, p2r disc, k-series disc). Also need tires and get my car inspected.

^ Indeed it is.
Atlas, have you confirmed the K disc will work? That's a big risk if not....I'll let Paul chime in, but doesn't the PP take the brunt of the 'power?' Meaning, it's rated at a certain HP/TQ level? Apparently XLR8 has a clutch kit.

over on j32 a couple people say they have used the k disc. The p2r disc went up in price($190) and I can get a competition disc for around half the price... So i would say its worth a shot..
