Battery replacement with the supercharger?

I need some clarification on the battery everyone is using with the supercharger. I read in a post that I need the 51R but according to Optima's terminal layout, the positive terminal for the 51R is on the right side. When I looked at my battery, the positive terminal is on the left side. So now i'm thinking I need the 51 instead? Can any of you supercharged TLs help me out?

BTW - Do you think the Optima is worth the money or would you recommend another brand?

I would say no on the Optima, their quality has gone down hill. I like the Braile batterys summit.com has. They are super light weight and smal,l fixing the terminal problem. I think most people are running the 15 LBS version, you could go 11 LBS but It has less cold craking amps. $140-150 I think.

So did you get the 51R or just 51 (or another size)?

I just went on to summitracing.com and took a look. Did you get the B2015?

You could also relocate the battery to the trunk. Summit and a few other places have nice battery housings/boxes too.

stick with a 51r the interstate battery is a good choice. dont get the optima there 51 series suck, had to replace mine after a year with the s/c on. you do not need to remove the s/c to replace the battery either. just had a customer with a one year old braille that went bad already so dont think that they are any better then optima.

+1

just save yourself the trouble and buy yourself a good battery relocation kit. i kick myself in the ass for not doing that in the first place, cause when the battery goes, its a major PITA to change it out. whats great too is you can run a normal size battery and add some much needed weight in the rear of your heavy FWD car for better weight distribution.

i bought the taylor kit for only 100 bucks and didnt need the box since i went with the optima yellow which is sealed. only bad thing about the optima battery is it weighs about 50lbs 0_O but it counters the extra 50+ lbs the charger kit adds to the front.

will probably get the j-pipe. Josh said it would probably reduce some of the drone of the greddy exhaust. Can anyone confirm this?

does the battery just sit in the trunk exposed? i kind of like a clean look but it's something to think about. thanks.

make sure you get a drycell battery if you relocate it to the trunk
