Bad experience with Ebay AEM intake purchase

Anyone else purchase their AEM TL intake from this guy on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AEM-C...18760734QQrdZ1

I'm still waiting to hear about my intake (paid for it in full via paypal about three or four days ago). Just curious if someone else who's purchased from him has had a positive/negative experience. Thanks

It's not uncommon for sellers to not make direct communication with the buyer. It's so automated these days, you click to send the payment, seller receives money and ships stuff out to the noted address, and that's it. This is how my last 2 transactions went on eBay. Don't be surprised if the intake shows up at your door out of the blue in the next few days.

That is who I bought it from....got it in about a week....he never emailed me when it was shipped. I have bought over 300 items on ebay and half of them never emailed me.

Dude, he's only got a feedback rating of 97.2%. He's received 7 negative in the last month, 32 negative in the last 6 months, and 60 in the last year. The negative feedbacks complain about either slow shipping or never receiving the product and that he never responds to e-mail....Not sure what you expected

On the other hand, it's only been 3 or 4 days. He's shipping via UPS, so if you allow 2 days to process the order, it's only been in transit for 1 or 2 days. He's in California, you're in Chicago. That's at least 4 days via UPS, so you've still got another 2-3 days for it to get there.

So, apparently my intake was shipped to PA instead of IL. the seller re-directed the package, so it should be at my door on the 8th. Again, if I had not contacted him about this, I never would have heard from him or seen my intake.

You should give him a feedback once you rec'd your CAI for future reference for future buyers.

Well at least he responded. His feedback looks like he doesn't always return emails and it takes him a little time to ship.

my experiences on ebay vary... sometimes the seller emails me info and sometimes they don't. I always try to get the tracking number so I know when to expect the package on my front door.

Good luck!

Still haven't received shipment of my intake. It's sitting in California according to UPS website. I had to email the seller AGAIN to ask him to call UPS to figure out when and if it was gunna be delievered to Chicago. He said he'd get back to me on that.

Great.

If you're buying this, it ends in a few hours, but don't forget the eBay/Paypal coupons either
C23-GIFTGUIDE for $15 off $100
or
C11-GIFTGUIDE for 10% off (Max $25).

Been considering this for a while, but felt like I should hold off and get a supercharger. Decided to go a bit more conservative, and not spend such a hefty price tag for 60-65 WHP. I'm sure it's fun and all, but I drive a 5AT and live in Los Angeles, not going to get too much use out of it

Oh yeah, I pay for everything w/ my American Express card, so if he tries anything funny, or I'm unhappy, I'll just chargeback I love Amex :P

So I finally received my intake. Very frustrating ebay experience. Buy from this seller at your own risk. I don't recommend it.

So did you get the dryflow filter??? Maybe that is why he is selling so cheap to get rid of the old stock and in for the new stocks that carry the dryflow.

I got the dryflow filter, yes. It did NOT have the cleaning solution in the box, however, but it DID have the instructions for the cleaning solution as if it were supposed to be in the box. Dunno if anyone else received the cleaning solution in the box --

So your filter is not the light red color correct?? Your in luck then dude!!! The dryflow will save you a huge headache when it comes to cleaning it every 50,000miles.

Yeah, my filter is a fabric gray .. definitely the dry flow filter (as per the AEM website pic). Considering I'll have to remove the wheel, and the wheel well lining to change/clean the filter, I'm glad I have the dryflow.
