Back in Florida-weight reduction!!!
Back in Florida-weight reduction!!!
Folks...
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and happy new year's.
Unfortunately, the car has not been dynoed as promised for the given time. We are still waiting after 6 weeks for the map sensor for the J&R Ecu...supposedly on back order.
The car has not been dynoed with the MUGEN TB setup. Still believing the car is making over 300whp specially now. It has been a good standard 59F here in Miami...Rule of thumb is 1% whp increased per every 10F degrees.
Im assuming a calculation of 300 to 303whp without the ECU...
Still i came with the idea to do some weight reduction (normal stuff) like spare tire etc...For the upcoming races...My numbers show a weight reduction of about 130lbs less; hopefully providing the additional advantage for the upcoming meet and greets on Monday...
Other rule of thumb is for every 100lbs....a 0.1 sec is improved...I had to do something for performance since the car does not have official dyno results or a tune as expected...
Anybody interested on details please PM me...

He has a Type S 6MT with full bolt ons/ported runners/bigger TB. I'm not sure if the manifold is polished. He had a dyno page initially putting down 294whp after the ported runners (a gain of 4-6whp I believe). He was going to let us know his final numbers after the TB and then after the JnR tune.
What size is the TB again? 74mm? If the manifold isn't ported, I can only see you gaining maybe 3-5whp with the TB. If the manifold was ported (including the opening to match the TB), I can see 10-12whp easily. That'd put you around 310 untuned. After a JnR tune, I have no doubts (let's say for arguments sake you are just at 300) that you will put down 325. Let us know!
Oh, and can you PM me any details you have?

^^^ can post a little more details about:
Throttle body bore diameter on the intake side and manifold side and the manifold opening diameter ?
My TB is ~71.5mm and the TB Gaskets + Spacers are matched and so is the intake manifold....
I wanna see if there is much of a difference between the bores....
PS: I also thought you have a lightweight crank pulley, if not get it asap

No lightweight crank pulley...I have debated about that...and its not gonna happen...Regarding the TB specs well its a 2 stage bore...I do not have the sheet with the specs available right now but i will provide details soon...It was a very expensive job, but it was matched with the TB gaskets and the TB spacer was also matched.

cant wait on the specs of the TB....
Maybe this'll give you guys some insight!

And Juam, what kind of dyno are you using? If you're using the same dyno each time, which I assume you are, you should have them correct the runs, so that weather variables are completely eliminated from pull to pull. It'll give you a much more accurate idea of what kinds of gains you're making. There are online calculators to compensate for this, but it's so much easier to just have them punch a button before each pull.
