go for quads (: i love my mine and i got it off a friend on AZ. check the black market if youre looking for a cheaper price. if you want brand new, heeltoeauto is the place to go. by the looks of your mod list you dont have the aspec kit yet so if you plan on getting it, get the type-s aspec rear so you can fit quads with some minor modifications to your original bumper

They're the only company to sell it as they OWN ATLP.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with huystAr. If you have a Base TL don’t get the quads unless u like that look. (Getting quads will require a Type-S rear bumper or cutting your Base bumper and getting a Type-S A-Spec rear) Personally I think the single big tip looks much better on Base models. With that said … I have the ATLP Base and absolutely love it (look and sound). You will not regret it, it’s a very nice system. If anything I would also recommend getting a J-pipe to go with your cat-back. J-Pipe will give you a good performance boost.

Anyone know why the base ATLP catback is more expensive than the ATLP quads?

Maybe because the Base is no longer in production … not sure

Might have to wait on the Jpipe looks like that's 700 more for the street legal one. I'd have like 2 grand wrapped up in exhaust lol

Street Legal J-pipe for $700?

You should pass inspection with a J-pipe with a third-cat removal.

If not, XLR8 J-pipe without third-cat removal is the best bang for the buck.

If I were you, I'd build your own exhaust. A lot cheaper and you get to have a custom exhaust that no one else has (more unique). Anyways, RV6 "true duals" ftw

On there site it asks to add a jpipe and the option that comes with the cat is $716.. or $395 without . Do they throw a CEL without that 3rd cat?

Just keep your stock cat and get the j-pipe or replace the 3rd cat with a race pipe …

You have to remove the bumper to get them out and blacked out headlights are all custom painted

It doesn't throw a cel if the 3rd cat is removed, but most j pipes can be used with the stock 3rd cat or race pipe. ( straight thru tube )

I have the ATLP quads and love them. I have been running it for three years and it is a quality system. Expensive but anything on the TL is going to cost a premium.

I just saw your post on JnC’s thread and noticed that you’re from Canada. (guess I should have asked before I referred you to him) Where about? Cause if its Toronto area then there is a local guy who also dose headlights.

(your PM box is full that’s why I post this here, clear your MSG’s)

I have the ATLP base & ATLP jpipe as well...love the combo! I got the resonated exhaust and think it's the perfect combo of looks & sound...very unique. Total for me was about $1600 including shipping & the add-on cost for the resonator ($160 if I remember correctly)

Who here has made their own exhaust? I want the atlp exhaust, actually putting money aside for it right now. What's it cost to make your own exhaust? If it's a huge price difference i might just do that.

I think making your own exhaust is cheaper($500-600) but the sounds is hit or miss. Those with custom systems seem to do more tuning to get the right sound. The ATLP is a sure thing sound wise for most.

Don't want to sound completely ignorant, but couldn't you just get a shop to duplicate the parts/design of the ATLP exhaust?

You'd need the parts to duplicate from first.

^From the shop I used to go, an experience exhaust shop will have no problems designing a duplicate by just looking at the picture and the exhaust note.

+1! An experienced shop can duplicate with looking at the system, specially with all the data, videos and info you can find here in the ACURAZINE related threads!!

atlp quads hands down! but i gotta give it to some muffler shops. iv taken exhaust cans and had shops custom make me cat back exhaust systems and it sounded the same if not better than some of my friends "real" exhaust systems.

Why is this thread turning into “How to knockoff ATLP!”?

well let me just say that i have the atlp quads non resonated with richies rv6 v3 jpipe and i love it. my car sounds sick. i have had people that have porsche 911 and infiniti g37s come up to me and compliment me. they told me its an exotic tone. its an awesome deep throaty rumble. it has set me back $1500 not installed. but its worth every penny. i looked around for a while before i made my purchase and i am completely satisfied. if money isnt an issue go with it. you wont be upset.

Now it seems like everyone has a hard on for the quads. Is the quad setup going to sound any different then the base setup ? I don't have the type s aspec kit yet and not going to mod my base bumper

damn really?!! im rockin the ATLP Quads v2, ATLP J-Pipe v2, and ATLP Race pipe. i love it and wouldnt go back. ill be waiting on some compliments like that from those kind of vehicles or maybe nobody here is nice enough to walk up to me and compliment me haha.

As in the differences.. no clue. i personally like quads. I wouldn't go custom as somebody mentioned above me, its a 50/50 chance of you liking the tone of the exhaust. i believe investing into a branded cat back is smarter and safer just because theres a guarantee behind it 500-600 for custom? I landed a great deal on all 3 parts for $1000 plus 50 for install from a friend.
