Since it's winter here in NY and such my Base TL exhaust seems to hit my bumper and make it rattle. It doesnt so much "rattle" per say. It shakes the entire bumper making it sound like it's going to shake the car apart at times. At normal driving it's fine. Just at low MPH like 1-5MPH it shakes.
When I originally got the exhaust in July of 2009 it never touched, only the right tip BARELY touched. Now both sides touch and it was never moved since.
Never did this during the summer or fall. Just noticed it during the last month.

I am just curious if when it gets cold out the exhaust tips moved inward? I mean it's been 5F here lately at night and 20 during the days high. Any recommendations to fix this dumb issue?

I have the Jpipe and RV6 test pipe (resonated) to give you further details.

You didn't break a hanger did you?

 

^+1 ... might want to check whether your hangers are intact

 

the tips are adjustable, they're specifically made to have some play in the bolt area where the cans mount up to the pipe. it'll only take u 15 minutes to loosen the bolts and bring the can down a little bit and u can do it by yourself. it helps to have a breaker bar, pb blast if the bolts are rusted and ramps, but u don't necessarily need these.
