Any way to reinforce an auto tranny?!?

Does any one know how to reinforce the Tranny besides with a aluminium cooler. Anything that will give the auto Tranny some balls.

I think as far as reinforcing it, short of a rebuild with heavier duty components the cooler is it.

3rd & 4th pressure switches are a good maintainance idea. Some people do them with every fluid change (3x3).
@sloppyjoe, search Auto transmission threads and it will give you some ideas on how often to change you fluid and pressure switches. Check out the last post in this thread.

Dude Come on 3rd n 4th pressure switches! That is not doing anything to beef up the transmission. This feels like a lost cause. Heavy duty components?? So I'm guessing no one knows anything about reinforcing auto Trannys.

Countless threads on this.

Pressure switches will beef it up since it wears down every 60-80k miles.

This is what i would do:

1> B&M external transmission cooler (optional but i would do it)
2> 3rd and 4th Pressure sensors (do it asap, replace them every 60K miles, i do)
3> Redline ATF (a 4x3 will last you 60K miles)
4> Drive in SS mode (i do all the time) this way you can avoid 4-2 shift....

This way you will have "reinforced" your tranny....

Why do you ask a question and then get pissy when someone answers? Anyone with half a brain can google this questions.

For those of you with less than half a brain (op)
Cryo treating the trans will help. Upgraded clutches from raybestos. D4 fluid. Upgraded switches.

Bro chill out and put yourself in check. This isn't honda-tech or some rice forum. Treat people here with respect and you will get your answers. Now, I would highly recommend an transmission cooler, highly. I have one and let me tell you, within a minute that thing gets too hot to touch, more cooling, means more life on the fluid so it means it won't break down as fast keeping it's main function. Change out your fluid every 15k and you should be fine. As for re-enforcing there isn't any that I know of as in "racing" clutch packs or things like that.

The pressure switches are maintenance but if you want your tranny to last then I suggest you do it as far as from what I've read.

seems pretty pissy to me... if you really care about performance you would have gotten a car with a third pedal.

i've prepared a fresh bowl of dicks for you to eat.

Okay guys, lets tone it down a notch...

You will probably have to send the transmission out to a rebuilding company to have them upgrade the internal components like the clutches, valves, passageways, etc.

Dr. Evil was one such company but a lot of folks have had bad experiences with their parts failing. I'm sure there are other companies that can do the work to improve the trans.

As far as trying to improve it yourself, look into installing a better filter and cooler for the transmission to help keep it cool under high stress situations. As well search for a post made by I hate cars. It details how you can modify the pressure switches to raise the pressure at which it shifts for a snappier one.

Try Level 10, they do valve body mods and full rebuilds using heavy duty clutch packs and higher stall torque converters.

Hmm...maybe talk to a local transmission/performance shop.
