sorry to bump up a old thread but im starting to look for a new cat for my 210k+ mile TL and ive been eyeing the HFPC as a replacement
I live in Socal and i was wondering where all the socal guys are going to pass visual inspection with their HFPC? either a post here or PM would be appreciated
last couple shops i went to were so thorough that I failed visual due to my DC Sports CAI intake having the wrong CARB exempt #.. carb # pulls up the honda accord V6, had to email them to get the correct documents proving the CAI was carb legal before i could pass smog

Cats

My brother owns the TL now. I installed high flow cats and has yet to fail smog twice. Smogged at least twice with the cats. The smog shop did , however, failed the race pipe that was on. Easy fix, still have the 3rd stock cat- put that on and passed.

I’ve tried seven shops in San Diego and none pass visual. I end up removing my front cat only and get it tested. Once they see the front cat is normal they usually don’t check rear HFPC

Do the HFPCs have fittings for the heat shields? Seems like that could disguise them a bit?

I live in Texas and while the visual inspection is far looser here I don't want to gamble.
