AEM CAI in Vermont

AEM CAI in Vermont

Hey folks,
I live in Vermont, and have installed a AEM CAI on my car, has anyone run this thru a winter?? I put the filter wrap on, but not sure how much that will protect..Any feedback would be great!!!

protect from what?

i've had my CAI on my car since 2005....in VA...no problems except a dirty filter. after 5yrs....it was pretty black.

I'm in VT. Snow won't be a problem. If you live down south, water would have been recently.

No I didn't. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have one on.

You'll just have to make sure that if you do use your TL as a snowplow, to check the area where the filter resides. If it get's packed with snow, it's going to choke the motor.

Deep water is really the only danger with the filter hanging low like that.

Talk to AEM, they said if I wrap the filter, and stay away from puddles I will be fine.. Pretty much what everybody here said!! Here is the pic with the wrap on...

I'm in MA but take my TL up to Jay Peak a few times a year to ski along with a few other mountains. Had my AEM for 2 years without issues. Like everyone says, just be careful with water, other than that, you're good to go

If your worried about it.... I would get the bypass filter for the CAI. Saved the motor in my old car
