Advice

reading through a few treads. i decided on buying 1. aem cai, 2. comptech rear sway bar, 3. pulley. so i'm a bit confused. searching for pulleys, i've notice people using ur underdrive and ur stocksize pulley. i got a 2006 tl(stock), which pulley should i get?? and where is the best places in regards to price to get these items? thanks in advance for the advice. the mod bug is itching me like crazy.

Well the pulley you get pretty much depends on what you want and what you plan on doing to the car. If you are going to put a system in your car that is going to be over 600 watts RMS, OR put a supercharger in at some point than get the stock size pulley. If not get the underdrive pulley. The underdrive unit spins the rest of the accesories at a bit lower rate so the alternator wont actually be charging atn full capacity adn the supercharger wouldnt be boosting at full boost. I have the underdrive pulley. Really I doubt its not much more power but thats what I went with. Over all the mods I have done the most power I got was from my pulley. I am getting my car dynoed on friday. Excellerate is a good guy to talk to for the pulley. If you get the underdrive pulley you will need to get a new belt too.

Yes as TLFourPlay said the UR Ultra S underdrive pulley is for all cars without a stereo system over 600 watts RMS or a supercharger. You can purchase all the parts from myself if interested. I stock them all.

The HP gains are mostly in the lighter weight. The underdrive pulley may make an additional 1 hp.

you can re-use your stock belt. You should inspect it of course to ensure it is serviceable

Is that 1 hp difference between the U.R. stock size and the UR underdrive? In other words , so the UR underdrive pulley may make an additional 1 hp OVER the U.R .stock size pulley.

Also, I P.M.ed rets to see if he could add a section on pulleys to the 3g garage, but haven't heard anything on it yet

Yes the difference between the UR stock size pulley and the UR underdrive pulley is maybe 1 hp. The difference over stock is about 7-8whp.

Just install the STANDARD AEM-- but tun it 180 Deg. through a hole in your hood. This will put filter right about eye level. When you see water coming over your hood, you will know you have gone tooooooo deeeep . . . .

^lol or.... be smart about where/when/how you drive when its raining. As for your question there is no current AEM CAI that has some kind of protection from a big puddle of water.

Sometimes I wish I didnt do the CAI... I know it not supposed to void the warranty. if something happens then you have to go thru the effort of proving it wasnt caused by the CAI.

But to each his/her own.
