The simplest mod is to replace the J-pipe. That's a quick bolt-on ~15 HP. To improve handling, upgrade the rear sway bar with the Progress 24mm version.
After that, pre-cat deletes or high-flow pre-cats to free up the exhaust a bit more. Some upgraded struts/coilovers will tighten up the handling even further.
It all depends on your budget.

We agree with .jpg, a j-pipe is always a great place to start! By deleting the third unmonitored catalytic converter, you eliminate a big restriction which allows you to see gains without a tune. Since that cat is unmonitored (there are no sensors going to it) you can delete without risk of a CEL. You can see our XLR8 V2 j-pipe on our store here.
An intake is never a bad place to start either! It will improve throttle response, and you should notice a little bit of a power increase - not as much as the j-pipe however. With the high flow filter you will also get some added intake noise, which some people find very appealing.
AEM has a nice intake available for this platform which I usually recommend, but it will hit on the Type-S fog lights so some trimming or minor modifications are required. You can see that here. K&N also has their Typhoon intake available for that car and is a good option if you want to avoid the modifications for the AEM piece, and that can be seen here.
Feel free to send me a PM if you need help getting setup! Otherwise good luck and happy modding!

Start with exhaust. Maybe a catback and a j-pipe, then CAI intake and precats/deletes (AEM does make an intake that's Type s compatible with no modification.). Round it out with some more intake bolt-ons (J37 manifold/ZDX throttle body/PNP work) and a tune and you'll have a mildly faster car. If you're really looking for easily accessible/cheap power, this isn't the platform.
Currently my auto Type S is fully bolted/ tuned. Deffinitely a noticeable improvement over stock but still probably only somewhere around 260-280 whp. Never dynoed. I just know it still isn't quick enough for my liking so went forced induction.
