Okay Fellas, I’m having another go at installing the paddle shifters. Upon removing he steering wheel airbag, the solid copper doorbell wire I used piped right out of the socket.. It was not ment for this.

Using the left over 550cc injector clip wires to solder on the ends . Also soldering everything this time(Now that I own a solving gun). It wasn’t hot enough to solder the starter wire(speaker wire) to the modified starter, but it’s perfect for this. Going to try to be as detailed as possible for Zeta.

God dammit. I pulled off the steering wheel without first loosely replacing the size 14 steering wheel nut.

It wasn’t going so I put my whole body into it. Ended up in the back seat still holding the steering wheel, and the clock spring was still attached.

One of the ribbons is now bent. Should be okay.

Well done Alex. That looks as organized as a Mayo stand ready for an operation.

You should see my mayo stand. Everything in precise symmetrical order. Some people say the level of detail is unnecessary.

I need a new Clockspring

Can’t find a guide online to rewrap it. Every time I try, the longer of the two of the three ribbons has two extra loops in it..

Shifter end wiring was right and soldered. So I reassembled the interior. Steering wheel column end now has correct 14g wiring soldered and ready to be put into the column clip. Steering wheel still needs to be rewired/soldered.

Difference between old wire and new. The insulation on the new wires makes the wire stay put in the clip, win-win!

Using 16g wire(not 14g), make notches on the wires when in the clip to ensure they do not back out.

I would put a small tie wrap around both, then one across that tie wrap and the module to ensure they can't back out.
although they probably won't anyway if it's a tight fit.

New battery box fits like a glove. At 6’2” I fit comfortably in the passenger seat and keep most of my range of reclining motion. This box is bigger than the one in the Comptech trunk but is more stable.

Turned on the Acura LED light in anticipation of the air suspension kit install.

I tried the new setup yesterday, but have the wires on incorrectly in the clips.

No idea if you got the new clock spring yet, but I did the same thing with it when doing my paddle shifter install.

When trying to rewind it I found out where the ribbons were bent before and did it that way. It's kinda hard to explain, but basically you can't bent all of them in the same place as you end up with the extra.

Shortest one bends and comes back first, then the next one and so on.

Thanks peter!!

I haven’t ordered a new one yet, as the old one is still functioning.

So it doesn’t do full loops, just bends back on itself.

Thanks again!

So, that means that he can slam it for photos/car shows, drive it with a slight drop, then lift it for bumps or gravel driveways via dash controller?

Instructions stated to use loctite 545. In bold read to not use thread tape.

Guess what was used?

Compressor is only holding 21psi...

Will use correct sealant on Tuesday. Till then it’ll be sitting pretty in the garage.

It’s the 2008 base model. I think it’s a direct fit.

I'm a little surprised you put money into air suspension on a racecar!

They look cool, and assumingely ride well, but seem to be high maintenance vs. traditional coils.

What about hydraulics and stance?

Or the peeps who misbalance their car with speaker systems and forced induction.

Stickers/license plate borders on cars that don't mirror the parts.

Guess we reached 300whp afterall! How's that M5?

I just read the first few pages of this thread and was amazed at all the support the build recieved. I knew so little of what I was getting myself into then(still don't).

Deontae's car looks awesome!

That was very nice to help him like that.

I also love seeing a young man mod his TL. You know, like they did back in the TL glory days!

Hey bud! We both are! The silver S/C is as well.

I bought a top mount M90 and the last new Comptech Sports snout to fit it onto to upgrade the boost on the silver TL.

How are you and the CL-S6?
