After driving on the new SPEC clutch setup. Now that it is fully broken in, there is no need to heeltoe or blip the throttle.
it was only necessary as a byproduct of the break in period. Drives just like the OEM clutch.
thank you @gerzand ! I am very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to anyone with a 6MT. Perfect combo!

Thanks bud, tune is scheduled for this coming mon-fri!
I was trying to make it a day tune, but I’m told the initial E85 tune needs a cold tune, mid temp tune, and operating temp tune. Is this true?

Never heard of that. Most guys tuned on e85 just get a tune and that's it. When I got my tune, my tuner just tuned for e85 and made wiggle room for the tune incase I ran something with more ethanol (I tuned on e70). Took him 4 hours to tune on 93 and e85

Ive never heard of that before and my brother's cars are both tuned on e85 but I am not knowledgeable enough on that topic. I'm sure itll go just fine. I know these cars are not meant for quarter mile but Im curious to see what your car will run. I might run mine at a test and tune this year-Ive got a backup vehicle just in case she breaks

After the tune I will take it to P.I.R on track day. I joined the Cascade Sports car club a few months ago. It’s $210 per track day(expensive), so I won’t go very often. :P
You can track your car all day, and they provide lunch.
I don’t like dragging the car because it’s rough on the components.
Edit: it’s rough the components regardless, but I feel there is less stress on the car during WOT when it is already in motion.

@90foxnotch Which car are you going to run this year? Which track?

That sounds like a lot of fun, Id rather do a road coarse type track but the nearest one is a couple hours away and pretty expensive. I agree, drag racing is pretty hard on any fwd car. We usually go to Norwalk,Oh-Summit Racing Sports park or Milan Dragway. Both of those are drag racing only. They have test and tune days for $25. I would be taking the tl, the mustang is on the back burner again unfortunately

Op, that's awesome you got the clutch in without taking the subframe out. Having done the clutch swap twice, both times removing the sub frame I can say that it is the preferred method for me. It took me 13 hours the second time around and the access to other components is fantastic. Besides building the engine support there aren't any special tools required. The subframe is held in by a few bolts and its out.
You go to Milan?! That's where Euro-R_Spec_TSX and I have gone, it's also where I realized how slow my TL is and how fast his TSX is lol. Drag racing isn't my thing but its still fun, probably because I have slow cars.
Mid-Ohio, Gingerman, Waterford Hills and M1 Concourse are all close road courses. Gingerman is great for first timers with the amount of run off. Mid-Ohio is a blast but can get dicey in hurry with the wrong inputs if things get out of hand. Waterford hills is technical, lots of turns and not alot of straights but a good value.

When the new 5.0 mustang beat me by 2-3 car lengths multiple times. I noticed a decrease in power and inconsistent power during WOT at times.
I also noticed a feint blue smoke coming from both heads I will after that night.

You are correct that it is the preferred method due to ease of accessibility.

Shit, I think I ran into that once, but I can't recall why
Are you burning it up in the SC setup? not sure if oil is used to cool it...
I hope you beat that 5.slow when you get it sorted!
Just kidding, those new 5.0 with a whipple on top are pretty close to top dog now.

The cars been through a lot since it was first modded.
Rotrex has its own oil cooling system($150/quart!)
They are 460hp for he “Top Dog” Mustang. Perhaps 350whp?
Will change the oil today and see if that fixes it. Hope there’s still a quart of oil in there!

Really depends on what year and what trans of the coyote car. The new ones with an auto run 11s with a good tire. Your tl should be able to beat it roll racing. Probably not from a dig

I've never driven a car that I felt was better overall than the S5 I drove a long time ago and I still felt that way when I test drove the S4.
I'm not after sheer power or I wouldn't have moved on from the Caddy.
I want a balance of being reasonably economic AND fun and fast.

Cheaper aswell, even with top quality parts.
I’ve been able to get 30.6MPG with 384whp. Economical aswell.
Parts are cheap, plentiful, widely interchangeable and well designed.

Hmmm...
but, for a guy that doesn't keep cars too long...
that's not an option. That's only good if you plan to be married to the car.
I literally got to enjoy all that performance and technically made money 2 years later.
I agree though, 30mpg and fast and fun to drive is a winner

The ATF had never been changed so a proper J35 3x3 was in order.
Even the third drain was brownish.
My Father(Who was originally a mechanic by trade) always said, “Keep up the maintenance on your car and it will last forever”, never did the maintenance on his personal vehicle.
That must be why the shoe repair man wears the worst ones.
I love my Father very much.

I've had it 4 now and plan to...
but if the right price popped up I'd consider it.
If you're implying forced induction on that, absolutely not.
2 reasons...that's money I'll never recover and it's a LOT to do it right.
The other is I want to be able to jump in and enjoy my weekend car, not have
to troubleshoot issues from boosting. Having seen what happened to my old silver
one for my buddy that boosted it, I don't want to go down that road.

What was going wrong with your boost? Did your friend do the install?
Once you get rid of all the gremlins post-Installation, it’s quite turnkey.

He had a hot start issue...
it led to a lot of other issues that led to a blown motor.
Even if it became reliable...it's a LOT of money to get to that point.
I love what Andy's doing...but it's not for me. I would only buy a car that came FI from factory and MAYBE tune from there.

The game changer is the new 10speed auto. If I bought a new mustang I might be tempted to go auto because it is that good! Also the newer manual is no longer a Tremec so it's not the best

unless it's a 90's supra, you probably won't see that money back though, which is the part I have a problem with.
I don't have to have the big power but if I did I would like to buy it right at the right point in the depreciation curve
and then sell it without taking a bath. And again, if I were picking a platform to make a beast it probably wouldn't
be FWD...so the S2000 is the right car but I'm just too cheap.![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
Fox..I know it, man...autos nowadays are blowing shit away. I set out for a manual S4 but after giving the DSG a try
I was surprised by how much control there was and how fast it shifted.
