Check out his ATLP product. It is 2.5" and has the mounting tabs to reuse the stock heat shield so you can pass visual inspection.

so is it pointless to get a jpipe without buying a hi flow cat?

 

since i bought my car used.. couldn't i just say that i bought it like that?? and play dumb if they bust me? i only want to get the jpip v3 and leave the rest alone.

 

Why not just get the ATLP version and reuse your heat shield? it looks stock, thats what I have and no pig would ever know a difference in a visual inspection! And still will pass testing.

They will never stop you for it, they have no way of knowing you deleted it. But if for some insane reason they find out they can screw you pretty bad. That's why I would be all for gutting the stock 3rd cat and getting the resonated PCDs so they look something like a convertor.

In CA they used to do random road side smog checks. They had a portable dyno, a sniffer, and a cop. If the sniffer determined you were in violation the cop would chase you down and pull you over and force you to get your car smogged on the spot. Sounds crazy but I almost go caught. I'm diving down the street in the GN on leaded race gas and no cats and luckily I saw it ahead of time. I picked up some speed and killed the ignition before I got close. Luckily I had other cars around so it wasn't obvious. I swore if they pulled me over I was going to floor it and break their weak portable dyno.

I doubt any other state would pull that kind of stuff.
