'04 TL Mount Question
Hey guys, I have a 04 mt6 TL and I am reaching the 120k mark on the odometer. As most of us know the engine mounts after this many miles are worn pretty badly. I purchased a XLR8 engine dampener in hopes of helping out earlier this year, and it did to a degree, but its only a bandaid to a larger problem. I am getting the driveline shake from 45-70 mph under acceleration like others I have read have with bad mounts, and I am tired of it.
I have read mixed reviews on how the 62a mounts from XLR8 are at idle, and throughout the RPM range. But I have family and business partners that ride in my car, and I would prefer to keep it pretty smooth as it is a daily driver.
Here is my question
Should I ....
A) Buy a new front and side OEM mount and run the XLR8 ETD
B) Buy the 62A xlr8 mounts
C) Buy the 62a xlr8 mounts and only put the front and side mounts in.
Just want to hear from you guys about what everyone is running and what works and is still relatively smooth... btw the 75a mounts are out of the question for me.
Thanks!

I have an 06 accord v6 (same mounts as TL), and I just installed XLR8 mounts about a week ago. I have run 60a mounts on almost every vehicle I have ever owned (mostly 4 cylinders) and these by far have the least vibrations out of all of them. My car has every bolt on for this car, and It still is very smooth. I would imagine that if you only did the front and side mount, that the vibrations would be very minimal. But, if you only DD the car, and only get on it every once in a while, I would say go with the stock mounts.

I too have full bolt ons on this car. I do get on it but its far from a track car. Are you running the xlr8 engine torque damp.? I read where the mounts and etd together gave some harsh vibrations? Any idea how much stock mounts cost?

when i had the same question people reported that brand new poly engine mount will vibrate way more than broken OEM mounts.

The vibrations at idle are not bad at all. They are a little worse with the a/c on. You feel much more connected with the car, and the driving experience is greatly improved. Before the mounts, if I shifted very quickly into second, I would get a grind. Since installing the mounts, this has not happened. The shifts are much more precise. This has been my favorite part

I have the XLR8 75A mounts and they are still pretty smooth. Most vibrations are felt when you purge electrical accessories, when you turn the wheel at a standstill and the AC unit kicks on. While driving, i barely notice it.

Well now it seems I have another choice, poly fill the OEM mounts...not sure about this. But it is around the same price as the xlr8 62a engine mounts. still concerned about vibrations.... decisions decisions......

just curious...did you know your mounts were broken just by looking at them? i looked at them but it's hard to tell what's going on unless i take them out. or am i looking at the wrong thing? haha
