Yet another problem

Just finish the install yesterday and found out that the iLink does not work. Connected the iPod and then I get a message saying "media detected", but nothing else works. No icons, menus, etc!!! Tried it on a new 30gb video iPod and an older iPod with no video just music. Still nothing does any1 know why or how to fix this problem? BTW I am about to do a firmware upgrade that I download from Valor's website. Where exactly do I save the patch to on the iPod?

Are these the proper steps?

1st configure my iPod as a external HD
2nd copy the patch to the iPod
3rd connect the iPod to the iLink
4th Choose upgrade and let it do its thing

Where is the root menu on the iPod?

Thanks

I would suggest you read over all of the instructions again as well as threads related to the iLink as well as check all of your wiring connections.

There may be something that you have overlooked.

The wiring is fine. Everything powers up and it does show up on the navi screen however nothing works once the iPod is connected. The iLink does see the iPod, but thats about it.
