Lightbulb XM Hack - Why not listen to free XM until the TL lies in a junkyard (2020+)?

The title pretty much says it all. Such a hack has been done on standalone receivers by reprogramming a chip so that the system ignores the deactivation signals sent when your subscription is over. I think it's worth it; if not for the money (15x12x12.95 = $2300), at least for the thrill of it. Hmm?
