Will a nav dvd unit from an 07 TL work in an 04 TL?
I just purchased an 04 TL with nav(orange) , but was wondering if the 07 and newer nav units (white) will work with my touch screen? If so, are there any benefits or just a waste of money?

from what i can remember, the newer white discs do not work in our orange "disc-ed" navigations...but there's some sort of update available? it's a rip off though...

I have an 05 and took a loaner 08 today from the dealer and noticed some differences in the display of the NAV. When you say replace the drive, you mean swap hard drives? Can you just buy the hard drive for the 08 and put it on the 05? Wonder how much that would cost. DOn't really care for the XM traffic.

From the factory an 08 drive will cost you upwards of $2k, but if you look online at say ebay you can find them from $200 and up. You can use an 07 drive as well, they use the white disc too. You could run into some issues though with your sub-display in the vents. Couple people on here that did a navigation conversion were having issues with the time reading incorrectly during certain hours when using an 07 drive.
