White Neo-Wedge Bulb Not Shining Through
White Neo-Wedge Bulb Not Shining Through
Hey everyone,
I apologize is this sounds like a dumb post, but I can't find a specific resolution to, what seems to be, a simple dilema.
I have replaced all of my head unit bulbs much like many of you have done with simple T3 neo-wedge bulbs. However, I am having difficulties with allowing the white LED color to fully show through the "Auto" hot and cold buttons. The other buttons are fine, but the"Auto" buttons show through in a weird hazy off-white/light blue color of some sort. (This problem also is present in the gear shifter)
I've heard of this occurring with other Acurazine users as well. See below:
Has anyone found a good resolution to this issue? Is there some type of film within the button that should be removed?

During my LED conversion I ran into the same tinted Auto buttons on the climate control cluster. I thought they had been painted just like the backs of the shift console lights. So I grabbed an assortment of my wife's blue nail polish and proceeded to take the buttons apart. Lo and behold I found a little plastic surprise from Acura which was easily removed.

Everyone I know has this problem.
I don't remember there being a fix, which is the main reason why I didn't do the interior LED swap.
Not to mention the radio lighting wouldn't match, either.

I actually spoke with Esper.ice and there is a tinted film behind these buttons which make the light tinted. He PM'd me and explained that you have to take off the button cap and remove this plastic piece. I"m currently in the process of doing this.
